Do the roots keep growing in 12/12?

Hey how's it growing everyone?
I was wondering about the root system, I don't see anything really about roots.
You know how you put you seedling/clone in like a party cup or whatever and then transplant into the last pot (I do anyways, try to only repot once, 'cause of stress.....) and you veg for 2-3 more weeks, does the rooting slow down or stop or accelerate when switched to 12/12?

I notice root growth 6 weeks into 12/12 so yeah. Basically as big as your plant is above ground, it's just as big beneath the surface.

ok so they do keep growing, but is it the same pace as in veg or is it faster or slower?

lol. If people grow 12/12 from seed and roots grow, what makes you think they will stop growing because the lighting cycle has changed.

Good point, never thought of that, I'm just trying to find what size pot I can get away with in a 2 X 2 1\2 feet and have them a foot going into flowering, I only grow indica's and I wanna find out the smallest pot I can get away with, with these dimentions

I would say no less than a gallon. Don't want them to get root bound and slow up flowering.

A root mass will continue to grow untill the plant dies that is why it is best to make sure that your plant has a nice big tub to grow in the bigger the root mass the bigger the yeild.But after about 3 week of flowering the plant will stay roundabout the same height but the roots will contiue to grow.Most of the problems that you come across in growing in doors can be avaided by just putting the plant in the biggest tubs that you can fit in the grow room.You only have to have grown hydrophonics to see how big a root mass can become.

He is right big pots is the way to grow indoors if you ask me. I love my big pots!!!!!

I think I use 3 gallon pots.....I'm not too sure though, they're I'd say half the size or a little more than a 5 gallon pot

Three gallon pots should be fine. My pot is 10 gallons pretty big damn thing but I veg for 8 weeks as well....

root development actually picks up during the dark hours when the light stopd the foliage and branches from photosynthesizing. the roots do a lot of growing in the dark. no matter what amount......dont quote me, but im 99% sure i just read an article about that exact thing

my root ball in my ebb and flow tripled in flowering. I had them in net pots without hydroton on the ouside of the pots an two days before my light flip i filled the 2x2 tray with hydroton around the 4 net pots. By the time flowering was done the whole tray was a giant root mass so that means it gained nearly all of the roots during flower. Just my experiewnce though im not too sure about soil grows

In the flowering stage of my plants last year (outdoor), i had to transplant two 3 gallon pots into 5 gallon buckets. Within a few weeks the roots filled the extra space. Roots will grow to fill the space you give them. I also noticed that roots cant hold water for shit. You have to have a growing medium to hold the moisture in. I also noticed that the mass of root actually ate the soil that was in it, and i had to continually add more.
