Hello to all, I am new obviously but im in need of some help here...

This is my first time grow, so i'm learning as i go along. I Have a closet 10'LX2'DX8'H
its in a basement in a hidden wall, and i'm having serious issues with ventilation.

I have a 6in vortex 257cfm inline that i had connected to the 600w HPS hood as exhaust, and a small home depot 4inch inline booster as intake also connected to the hood. When light is turned on,both fans are operating, and the door is shut, the room maintains a temp of about 84F, but i placed a thermometer directly under the light about 2.5 feet below and it read over 100F.....

Obviously this would burn the precious babies, but would this be okay for flowering?

SO, i went out today and purchased an outdoor ballasted fixture and 100w metal halide bulb. I figured this would lower the temperature in the room, because i cant add another fan due to noise problems. I also have x6 65w "plant grow" lights, and x4 2foot growlux fluorescents . Im not sure what spectrum they are but there all from wallmart. Am i running enough lumens to support the 10 nirvana ak48 seeds i just purchased(soil), plus my homemade 5 plant bubbleponics setup without using the HPS until flowering?

I figured i would ask instead of just destroying some perfectly good seeds...any impute would be awesome!!

100 degrees means that cannabis cannot photosynthesize... not gonna work ever. I grow in an almost identical space with a 600w hps as well, i have no temp probs personally. use cfls on baby plants, then the 600w after they get nice and healthy.

I FINALLY stabilized the conditions in the room, it looks great, i wanna post pics but im working on the camera situation.

I think i have a problem with my soil though...

I went to home depot and got a bunch of seed starter potting soil, perlite, and peat moss, all with marical grow added fertilizers:

Peat Moss:
nitrogen: .05%
phosphate: .02%
potassium: .04%

Potting soil:

Nitrogen: .05%
phosphate: .01%
potassium: .05%

I just read online that this will destroy marijuana...is this true?? what should i buy?

No it won't destroy your plants, it just maybe alittile strong on your seedlings, you're not supost to add nutes till the 2nd week or so. But the soil won't kill them, maybe even help them. But I would use a lighter soil for seedlings, you can find it in the stores you just have to look.

If anyone tells you that Miracle Gro will not work is incorrect. I believe "all" fertilizers contain the N-P-K, and some micro and macro nutrients.
The issue with Miracle Gro(in my opinion) is that it seems many people have a problem with the time release fertilizers present in the soils.
You may need to add some dolomite lime to the soil. A guy I know who has been growing for around 20 years uses Miracle Grow Potting Soil, and Miracle Grow fertilizer(15-30-15). You can't, I repeat you can not use fertilizers right away. I believe he waits around a month before he fertilizes. When he does it's around 1/4 or 1/2 strength dose. And feedings are very sparse.
If you're willing to figure out how to use this(as you'll have to learn to use anything else you choose to go with..) it'll save you those "scary" trips to the grow store, you won't have to order anything online. You can make your purchases at wal-mart, home depot, lowes, etc, with no suspicion!

Sorry the post went on a bit.
Good luck with your grow!

I second hardroc.
The guy told me to never put your clone or seed directly into the Miracle Gro soil. Use a regular mix, or you'd even be alright with planting into the Miracle Gro after it breaks through a Jiffy Peat Pellet.
My plants are not tolerant of high doses of fertilizers, and I had no problems with this.

great info guys thanks. I was thinking of just eye balling the mixture of soil, perlite, and peatmoss, filling little paper cups for sprouting and then transplanting in a week or so....sound good? i may be over thinking this a bit but damn ive got alotta money invested at this point. im SO excited waiting on my nirvana ak seeds still.
