I spent many hours lying on the grass looking at clouds and the occasional jet in the 70's...NEVER would the condensation trail go all the way across the sky...(though this would have made the day dreams MUCH more fascinating as I could more easily imagine where they came from and where they are going) Nor would it be blindingly bright when seen with the sun behind it.
I guess the air is colder and drier now...and more conducive to ice crystal formation.
They also did not widen into clouds...they dissipated!
Not all of the commercial planes leave this lingering across the sky trail.
Look up...especially in the early morning. This is NOT normal condensation from burned fucking jet fuel. Almost forgot where I was...Fuck! Sometimes I forget to smoke...fuck that!
