I've got grow tent that is 4*4*7 which I believe is 110 cm. Since I will being growing Diesel, which I heard has a really strong smell when flowering, what cfm fan will I need to get that air cleaned through a carbon filter? 150cfm, 200cfm, 250cfm? Also since I will be using a 600w hps with a cool tube, what cfm's will I need for the lights?

Come on guys, I need some help. I was planning on getting the S&P TD-150 inline fan and hooking that up to a 400cfm carbon filter. Would that be enough to air out 110 cf? How many CFM's would I need for the 600w HPS in a cool tube?

general rule of thumb according to the faq is the air should be recirculated every 5 minutes. so your 112 cm grow tent would need anything over 23 cfm. So anything over that should work. The 150 cfm filter should definitely do the trick and have enough cushion for your extra stinky plants. I've never used a 600w light so I'm not to sure about that but it would make sense to me that if you have a 150 cfm filter and a passive intake you should be good considering you would have a completely fresh source of room temperature air being sucked in by negative pressure every 45 seconds

Thanks for the response. Say if I were to use a 400cfm filter with a matching fan, would that be overkill and a waste of money? If so, do you guys have any suggestions for a fan and a filter?
