Need temperature control help

Currently I have a 2ft/4ft/3ft box in my closet with an aerogarden that has the regular hood and the addition of 4x24w cfls. I have a 4" exhaust fan at the top of the box and a 12" fan blowing onto the AG at the bottom. There is no vents in the closet and I think that is the problem. It is usually fine during the daytime but at night when we close the closet door so we can sleep without a bunch of light pouring on us, the closet heats up and the temps go from mid 70's to mid 90's, easy. I'm thinking about putting a vent(like an a/c style vent) right on the wall where my 4" exhaust fan is at. So it would go straight from the box to the fan on the wall, does this sound doable?

you will need at least 2 vents. 1 to allow air in and one to allow air out. if you do this, you still need to have cooler external air entering the bedroom and grow room. But this also depends on the size of the bedroom. if it's a small room, keep a window cracked or the bedroom door open.

The bedroom itself is rather big but the closet that I am using isn't. There is plenty of fresh air and ventilation is fine during the daytime when I keep the bedroom door open and the closet door open. At night though is the problem. When the closet door is shut, it turns into an oven in there.

Huh??

One ventilation hole is all you should need for a closet.Put it at the top of the room with an inline fan sucking the hot air out,the room should pull enough cool air in from under the door.

I'm no pro by any means, however I have been reading ALOT on this lately. It is my findings that the exaust and the intake holes need to be sized relevant to each other. meaning the 4" fan is trying to spin and force out the 12" fans' pressure. So if you have a 12" intake you would need close to the same on exaust. Maybe trying an additional 4" exaust fan would help equalize the force being generated by the 12"....Or do like a friend of mine did on a similarly sized box. four 4" in, and four 4"out. There are some threads about ventilation and such. Hopefully this helps
