Flower Room - How light tight?

I was wondering how light tight the flowering room needs to be?

I know someone with an exhuast fan blowing air out of the Flowering room and into the Vegetation room. Light shines through the exhaust fan from veg into flower. Ducting was installed and bent to face the ceiling.....

So a tiny bit of light shines through the tubing and illuminates a small spot on the ceiling. If you allow your eyes to adjust this is barely enough light to see faint outlines of things. Is this acceptable?

I know some people will disagree with me and say "no light...ever". But I've been in my outdoor garden on nights when the moon was so bright I could read a book by it. Had no ill effects on the plants. I wouldn't worry about it.

the worst it can do is slow down flowering. it only takes one candlelight watt to throw off flowering. is it the kind of duct work you can spray paint black or something? but if you cant do anything about it the effects are probably minimum

I actually took black gorilla tape and taped it all around the ducting and in the inside to absorb light as it shines through. I'm considering placing some black cloth on the ceiling spot where the light shines to absorb more light. The light comes out to a small 3'' diamater glow after bending through a 90deg angle.

It's definitely not enough light to read by, just barely enough to see faint outlines. Probably not enough to count the fingers on someone's hand in front of you.

Thanks for the Replys. +rep when I'm back from class.

But what's all this talk about plants going Hermaphrodite when exposed to light during the dark cycle? Is that just if you have full power HPS for extended periods?
