Try a local nursery that also sells seeds and gardening supplies.I don't live even 100 miles close to a shop. Does anybody have any suggestions on soil you can buy at walmart or lowes your help would greatly be appreciated.
There is no nursery either.Try a local nursery that also sells seeds and gardening supplies.
Good luck and good growing.
You have a Lowe's and a Wal-Mart nearby, but no local nurseries? There is no nursery either.
Walmart or Lowes should have Foxfarm or another decent soil.
I order shit online all the time and have it shipped. I don't really care who knows, b/c the gov't has got enough shit to deal with then to come after my medical lazy ass.I don't live even 100 miles close to a shop. That's another good option. And even though it's perfectly legal to purchase from a hydro store, some people might feel funny about it.I order shit online all the time and have it shipped. Unless of course you plan to grow LBs.+++++
But if your just doing for your self, and in my case, my girl too (who suffers from a broken collar bone, diabetes, AND insomnia), nobody on the outside is going to care. Wasn't that the point of OG.com? Grow so much that they can't do anything about it, except legalize it?
Thanks for all the help. I am ging to grow 60 plants indoors so its not that big of a grow. but to have that much soil shipped to my house would cost a bundle. That is why I was looking at walm art lowes home depot etcThat's another good option. And even though it's perfectly legal to purchase from a hydro store, some people might feel funny about it.
The other option is to purchase from a conventional garden supply or seed company that does business online or mail order.
The best commercial soil I have ever used is made by a company called Intervale. Premium Potting Soil is what it's called. I can get it at my local nursery, but I know for a fact it can be purchased online through Johnny's Selected Seeds.
60 plants is not exactly what I would consider a small grow operation. Whatever you choose will cost you. Thanks for all the help. That is 100% not trueWalmart or Lowes should have Foxfarm or another decent soil.
now this is what I am talking about> Someone who can give some sound advice thanks CammoTry this, the ingredients are redily available just about anywhere. Use "store-bought" Topsoil, not "Backyard Dirt"!
"Four-way Mix" (equal parts):
1 part Topsoil
1 part Compost
1 part Perlite (or vermiculite)
1 part "Steer Manure" *
* The "1 part "Steer Manure" can literaly be made up of any combination of "balanced" fertilizers or nutrients you feel like using (I actually use "Gardner & Bloome's Barnyard Mix", which is a variety of animal manures, along with 2 seperate, balanced, "dry fertilizers" that are made up of a "whole laundry list" of various organic meals and "Mycorrhizae" micro-organisms. "Kellogg's Organic All Purpose 4-4-4" and "Whitney Farms Organic All Purpose 5-5-5"). The whole idea is to keep the overall "potency" of the "1 part Steer Manure" no "hotter" than "plain old, composted Steer Manure", so that the whole "4-Way Mix" isn't too rich. You can keep the "1 part Steer Manure" diluted by using a little of the "other" 3 ingredients (Topsoil, compost and Perlite) as "filler". I usually omit the "1 part Steer Manure" (or make it pretty "watered down") untill the plants are a few weeks old.
Add Dolomite Lime (about 1 or 2 Tblspns. per gallon of mix - enjoy!
The overall stratigy is to use this "4-way Mix" as a moderately neutral medium all the way through (from seedling to harvest). During the veg stage - add a little "High N Booster" (I use 5-1-1 Fish Emulsion and 10-2-1 Mexican Bat Guano). During the flower stage - add a little "High P Booster" (I use 0-10-10 Fish Emulsion and 0-12-0 Indonesian Bat Guano). The "High N" and "High P" boosters can vary according to whatever you can find locally, but Fish Emulsion and Bat Guano aren't that hard to find!
