i wouldnt fuck with it unless the plant is showing signs of high ph. I made that mistake before and lost some.

yeah, you could add like one half cup of dolemite lime per bag to it and it should bring it down.. you want to add the littlest bit of it that you can get away with.. it should drop it for you..

Guys dolomite lime DOES NOT lower PH. It is for increasing the PH of acidic soils. It is not neutral ph. It will not lower 7.5 PH soil to 7.0. He's going to need to get gypsum or sulfur to lower his PH. I honestly have no idea how this myth keeps going around. Do some research on dolomitic/dolomite lime and stop perpetuating bad information.

Ph in soil does NOT matter. Only in dro.
DO WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Ph in soil certainly DOES matter!!! BUT, it's not as critical as in a hydro set-up. You can get nute lock-out in soil just like in Hydroponics, but soil is much more forgiving of such things.
He's at 7.0-7.5. I wouldn't particularly sweat 7.0 too bad, but 7.5 definitely needs adjusting. I'm just surprised that his nutes don't make the soil more acidic on their own because generally in soil you encounter the exact opposite problem (ie. soil becomes too acidic over time). :peace:

What is the Ph of your water without nutes, and what does it go to when you add nutes???

Also, I definitely DO NOT trust the soil Ph/moisture probes --- I haven't seen a reliable one yet. Get a digital Ph meter and check your run off when you water, that works much better.

also fish strips are a good ph meter if you aren't color blind like me :)

I used apple cider vinegar to lower PH with no ill effect, if you can't get the proper stuff of course.

I wouldn't try to change PH to fast, just water with proper ph and it'll get there. I grew soil and had ran into same problems.

pH in nature does not quickly change. You can't expect to see a drop in days, or weeks for that matter. Nature takes time, you can't rush a good thing. You said your pH was a little high. Are there any problems with your plants?
