That's about an ounce of dried bud, so, it works for me. Alot of the guys around here couldn't grow their way out of a paper bag nor use techniques/tweeks to get to where they need to go. Sorry, but blindly following a forum paradigm that ends up in plant decline (i.e. using the Lucas formula) is not smart. Having said that.....lightweights and noobs shouldn't criticize that which they don't understand. ;)

Second, lower bud is usually more potent than the top most bud, contrary to the forum paradigm parroted by noobs. Don't believe me, see the test results posted by Mel Franks.

BUT YOU PROVED NOTHING....you came on here arguing your plant bulked up after half was harvested but it didnt at all?

yea that was my first outdoor grow in a cold climate using the wrong strain, which i put out late (july 13)

so yes if u want small buds like mine put a kush plant outside late in the summer and live up north where its cold in october.

now uncle ben if u got something to prove try putting the plant before and after pictures instead of a plant and then a bucket of buds...

and the buds being "an ounce" doesnt mean shit could be a bunch of .2 nugs

thx for the compliment tho the smoke was nicee small or not

nothin posted has proved there was an increase in yield waiting the 2 weeks on the bottom half, your last post u even said u didnt see a difference

and there u go with growing techniques again.....lmao fuckin ppl

and also im gonan try and find it, but a guy on this site had his bud tested and his bigger buds had the highest THC content in the middle section of the bud about half way down, his lower popcorn buds had a lower content.

Yep, I did it.

I got up Saturday morning, and smoked one, and got too stoned to think straight. Long story short is I over fed them, and got some mild nute burn. Went from 900 - 1000 ppm to 1200 ppm. Too much at one time! I've told lots of people this is my first grow ever, without nute burn. Well, now I shamefully got it. I drained and replenished with plain water Sunday, and only about 1/5 of the larger leaves look bad, with yellow spots. I have not given them any nutes since and they are doing much better. I will feed them 1/4 dose tonight, I think. I don't really know how long I ought to wait to go back to giving them nutes. I got lots of yellowy pistals, some slightly red. I got lots of trichs, but all clear, very few cloudy and I am at 8 weeks of 12/12 tomorrow. I will not be harvesting this Saturday as I had hoped.

hey whats up rose, I just seen that you got Michigan as your location now. gotta love this beautiful state too bad our economy sux and we have to root for the lions that are never on tv.

FLUSHING AT HARVEST?
MANICURING CLOSE?

I was reading my biggest grow book last night, getting ready for my harvest. It said there is a two sided arguement to trimming the buds close and not trimming close (manicuring) and the book discussed pros and cons over 4 pages.
Basically it said
Leaving some trim leaves also leaves trichomes, which help protect the bud from insects and fungus. But leaving leaves is where the bad taste of nutrients remain too. You also risk bud mold by leaving larger trim leaves and drying and curing takes longer too. Drying and curing is more risky with many leaves still on the buds.

Closely manicuring will leave tasier buds, or sweeter tasting buds, since nutes were storred in the leaves, especially if you do not flush for two weeks before the harvest. But close manicuring is less weight and those trim leaves do contain a high percent of THC if covered in trichomes. And Trimming Close gives better looking buds, and less drying and curing time too. Trimming close is less risky.


I trim very very close because I love to make hash. Maybe that is why they still taste so sweet without flushing.

There's two sides to everything I guess.

You ever think about trying bubble bags? I know you use the kief box, and are very satisfied with it. Just curious. I was just looking at them this morning. The 4 bag 1 gal kit is only 95$ now. Your just gonna have SO MANY trimmings! What are ya gonna do with it all bongsmilie

I had two bubblebags loaned to me two years ago, and thew my trim in a five gallon bucket of ice water and stirred it with mama's electric mixer she uses to bake cakes. WHAT A MESS! and I almost got frost bite too!
Yes I got alot of kief, but I lost a lot too, the water was full of kief that I tried two more times to recover and I still left some in the water, too much for me to leave.

I love my kief box, sitting on the sofa stoned, watching TV and getting ALL of it instead of some of it ,or only most of it, I get it ALL with my box.

Hey Roseman, you piqued my curiosity, what is a kief box, what does it look like, how do I acquire one? I'm almost ready for 12/12.

This year I have a framed silk screen that I got from a friend who does T-Shirt printing, it is (I am guessing) about 20 inches square.

I love my WICCA Kief Box best. (Google it)




I sit on the sofa, with my Wicca Kief Box, and a large metal mixing bowl, with ice in it, and my Trim in a plastic bag, laying on the ice. As I watch Football or a movie, I put a half cup of crushed crumbled FROZEN leaves in my box, and for 5 mintues, I rub it around in my box, on the screen and it falls through the screen, ont the mirrow below. After 5 minutes, I throw it in a separate baggie and I get some more that is still cold from being frozen and laying on the ice and I do another 1/2 cup full. And I just sift it and sift it and sift it.

In an hour, I get about 8 grams. From about a pound, I am guessing, could be 12 ounces, but last year for sure I got a pound of buds, I never weighed the trim, but I got about 24 grams of high grade hash.

The big secret is I FREEZE it again, and I do it again, at least 4 times. I can get 8 grams of hash from 4 ounces of leaves. I get every little grain of keif, none goes to waste left in the ice water or the bags.

And if I roll just one joint a day, maybe two on Saturday and Sundays, using the screen for a rolling tray, I get a gram of keif, or a gram of hash, once every two weeks.
