hello all... glad you could stop by... to make this easy i will give a broad over view and then a little more detail.. for those who have followed along before some will be a repeat.. for those who are new, welcome, grab a seat, and feel free to ask any questions you may have...

so lets start from the beginning...

seeds/strains:
- chocolope
- pineapple express
- yumbolt 47
- applejack
- royal automatic (auto)
- ak48 (auto)
- road runner (auto)


VEG ROOM: about 5' x 8' ( roughly 40 sq. ft.)

ebb and flood system with 16 sites (2 gallons each)... will flood 4x daily, 15 minutes each.. all of the sites in the veg room have hydroton...

4 x 420w satellite IV high out put floros - 176,000 lumens total
2 x 400w hps - aircooled (will switch to MH when the hps are done) - 100,000 lumens total

8" exhaust fan hooked to the hps reflectors...

fresh air intake (passive)

the chocolope, pineapple express, yumbolt 47, and applejack will veg for 60 days (give or take) while the autos in the flower room flower... a week before they go to flower i will take cuttings so the cuttings will be roots and ready to go into the sites as soon as their mothers move to flower..

FLOWER ROOM: 7'x9' (roughly 63 sq. ft.)
ebb and flood system with 26 sites.. flooding will be the same as the veg room.. most of the sites will be full of coco coir tho.. some will have hydroton.. there will also be an 18 gallon tote with a few autos in dirt...

4 x 1000w hps lamps... lumatek ballasts... aircooled reflectors.. 600,000 lumens total

2 x 6" exhaust fans... 1 per pair of 1000's.. passive fresh air intake

the auto flower strains will be done on this side while the other girls flower.. i wont run any autos after this grow (i dont think).. its more for a quick small bumper crop...

ODOR CONTROL: i have a carbon filter with a 10" fan on it... all the air from both sides (veg and flower) are dumped into a seperate room and then ran through the filter before being exhausted into my attic...

NUTES: i will actually be using 3 different nutes... some from advanced nutes.. some general hydroponics.. and some from cutting edge solutions (a new company based in cali)... now i started out with GH.. want to switch to AN.. and was told to try some CES (i emailed them and they sent me a trial pack of their entire line for free)... the plan is as i run out of GH nutes i will switch to the AN equivalent.. if i have good results tho with the CES i may go to them...

for veg i will use;
- GH veg and micro (hydro)
- GH floralicious grow
- GH diamond nectar.. if i run out of this i will switch to AN grandmas engy's f-1 (hydro)
- and some clones root hormone for the first week

for flower i will use;
- GH bloom and micro (hydro)
- GH koolbloom dry (last few weeks.. hydro)
- AN big bud (hydro)
- AN bud candy (hydro)
- grandma engys F-1 (hydro)
- CES micro, veg, plant amp, mag-amp, and uncle johns blend (soil only)

ill veg under a 20/4 cycle... since the flower room will have autos, that will be on an 18/6 cycle...

the hps ballasts (the 1000's at least) are adjustable.. so i can run 600, 750, 1000, or "super lumens" (whatever that means) if i want... ill probably run the autos under the 600 setting...

i have a chiller for both hydro systems ill keep set at 68

ill keep the ph around 5.8 to 6.3

ec will be anywhere from .5/.6 to 1.6/1.8 depeding on the growth rates...

temps will be in the mid to high 70s... with the fresh air intake tho it should keep it a little cooler.. and will supply plenty of co2...

i think that pretty much covers everything...

so that brings everyone up to date on the plan.. now for the status as of now...

i have most all my equipment in for my flower room... i am waiting on a couple things that were back ordered.. but will have 95% of it up and running in the next couple days... the veg room has been flipped from my last grow and is ready to go... i just have to start germinating the seeds.. the only thing is i want to make sure the rest of what i need (which is mainly the 2nd hydro system itself) will be in within the next week.. i only have little starter cubes and dont want to germinate the seeds to early and have them out grow the cubes.. i may start the veg side ones today... they can go a little longer in veg.. that'd be fine...

i am going to get busy and start getting the rest of the flower room together.. i will take some pics while im working and post them later... hopefully i can make some good headway today and get a large amount of work done.. ill know when the rest of my stuff is coming in also.. so ill have an update about that either later today or tomorrow...

alright.... so yesterday didnt go quite as planned...

i went and checked on when the rest of my equipment would be in.. as well as ordered a couple small pieces i forgot... i should hear back from him today.. but as it stands it should be by the end of the week...

since the veg room is already ready to go i went ahead and started soaking some of the seeds...

5 - chocolope
7 - applejack
5 - pineapple express
3 - yumbolt 47

thats 20 seeds and i only have 16 available slots.. so 4 of the sprouts will just get trashed.. yes.. it is money wasted.. but on the off chance that a couple of the sprouts dont sprout.. or something else happens along the way.. i want to be ready... i may grab a few 4x4 rockwool blocks just to let the sprouts go for a little bit.. the ones that i dont put in the system that is... once i get confirmation that the hydro system will be in this week ill start the other seeds as well..

i didnt get any work to the room done yesterday either... i went and got the chains to make my light lifters.. i got the new 240v sockets i need (the ballast to wall plug is the 2 flat prongs, not the standard 240v socket like i already installed).... then i got home.. went to start.. and realized that the drill bit i was using was stripped bad so i could screw in screws.... i didnt have a rachet set to change fans on my can filter... but really it was just a few little things i was going to do anyways.. i can wait a couple more days... basically just make 1 big push to get it all done...

i also realized that i might have to change the flood schedule a little bit on the flower side... since its coco coir, and that holds more water than hydroton, i might have to kick the feedings down to 2 or 3 a day.. more than likely 3 if anything.. but it depends on how much the girls drink... i'd like to stick with 4 a day...

what else... what else... i will try to post some pics today... well... really they will be really boring pics.. so ill just wait until the flower room is set up fully before i post pics...

also by any chance, would anyone have a good site/chart that i could get that will tell me more about this ebb/flood system. i keep hearing about it and cant seem to find any GOOD info on it. any help much appreciated.(sorry ss420 not trying to take away from your thread, even like it would. just wanted to know exactly what your doing)

really.. i think it depends on how motivated we are as stoners to do any given task as to whether we do it.. some things i smoke to get motivated to do.. somethings that i do ill smoke before hand because it makes the task more interesting/manageable/fun... and sometimes ill smoke to forget i had to do anything at all..

Little update my seeds finally arrived. Querkle; Heavy duty fruity; AK-47; Strawberry haze and purple wreck. Order 4 more 1000w lights that should be here this week. The BIG news I am now LEGAL. The paperwork arrived yesterday and I am a caregiver for 3 people.

this is the best i can do on the internet info wise...

its pretty easy to explain tho...

basically you have a 55 gallon res with a pump in it.. the pump is attached to a timer that in on the other bucket (you'll know what i mean when you see the pic)... when the timer turns on to flood the pump kicks on and starts filling the bucket... the nute solution is at that point gravity feed to all the sites via tubes... each site is connected to another in a line... if the timer bucket fills quicker than the sites there are over flow float switches that will shut the fill pump off... once the sites reach an equal water level height as the float switch the fill pump is shut off completely for that flood...

once the flood cycle has taken place a drain pump thats located in the timer bucket will kick on.. this starts pumping the water back into the res... the water in the sites back flows from them to the timer bucket to the res.. and then the flood cycle is done..

the timer can be set in 15 minute intervals.. so the shortest flood time is 15 minutes.. which is more than fine...

it comes with everything you need (pumps, tubing, ect.)

the sites are the coolest part i think.. each site is a 2 bucket site.. there is a solid bucket so the water doesnt leak... the 2nd bucket has drain holes in the bottom of it to allow water to flood up into it... the reason i like this so much is it enables you to have a rotating hydro cycle.. i can veg for 60 days in them and then move them over to flower without having to break things down at all.. most of the time your stuck vegging and flowering in the same room with hydro (there are other exceptions).. but this allows for a 2 room set up... and with it being hydro you dont have to worry about the plant not getting enough nutes or water even tho the sites themselves are only 2 gallon buckets...

each system comes with 12 sites.. but you can add on another 36.. so each system will take up to 48 sites....

hmm.. anything else...

i have a chiller for both res's ill have.. thats more a personal thing tho.. if you can control res temps without one all the more better...

i think that covers it pretty well tho.. if you have any other questions about it just ask!

wow you really do like to help, see this all seems like a system i was learning about.
have you ever heard of the infamous video, "I Grow Chronic" by mr green?
it has a hydro system close if not this one but cheap set up.
what he did was he set a res on the floor the had a pump that would pump the water into his tray from a hole in the bottom, the tray held orchid
pellets, now when the pump turns on the water will flow up and( have it on a timer for 15 min intervauls) and when the timer shuts the pump off there is a hole on the other side of the tray at the bottom that has a drain pipe to the res for it to drain out. and he would do this 2 -3 times a day. i am trying to find the video now. but would you say this is close to if not what your doing? and he only did this in flowering, he had a regular automated drip system for the veg, would you be able to do this for the veg cycle also?
