What's not looked at of course is the cost and the quality.

The USA has the finest medical technology in the world. get a really serious disease? Wanna live? (if you have the dough) Better head to the states, just like 400000 foreigners do each and every year.
40,000 uninsured die every year in the USA, the "richest country on the planet"., is that fucked or what?

No one is flying to europe or canada to be cured.... that's for sure. It's the other way around.

The only thing needed is to reduce the cost of our current system.

I prefer to work for what I have. I was taught something called pride. But I guess you know better than me, we should force someone else to take care of me because I'm incompetent and can't do anything without the help of others.

Yes a dream land where you too can become an endentured servant for life as soon as you have anything happen to you which your insurance company denies it. A dreamland where people are literally thrown out into the street from hospital beds they should be in if they can't pay. People always try to call bullshit on that stuff but it's not bullshit. The health system has failed us and you think we should keep it as is, maybe just stop them from denying care any more and all will be fine? All will be fine when there is a health care system that's not based on profit. Until then we will just be milked from more angles.

Who the fuck has the right to destroy a whole industry? WE FUCKING DO Because they have failed us and deserve it. All those health care workers and hospitals and etc can just be absorbed into the new system. Buy out the investors and take it all over and that's the end of that problem right there. There will always be a private sector health care you can pay for but the main hospitals and meat of our health care system should be completely non profit without exception.

Unregulated capitalism has failed in all markets, communism has failed, socialism has failed, so what that has nothing to do with the argument at hand. Either you think health care should be provided by your employer and yourself with several layers of fat profit shoved on top of you both or you think more along the lines of "we provide for the government, the government should in turn provide for us." Which it already does in socialist fashion via schools, fire dept's, police, etc.

Somehow we decided it must not be a good idea to have for profit fire departments and for profit public schools and for profit police. Seems silly to think they would ever operate any other way right? Same with health care. There is zero reason why your employer should pay for your health care or be in any way wrapped up in it's paperwork or expenses or have to sustain the burden of those benefits even after you retire that's too much of a burden on business. You can't have everyone just pay for it on their own, too many can't afford it and the same old system will treat us/them in the same old way.

The only option left and the logical choice is...

Years from now you'll have to explain this for profit health crap to your grand kids and they are going to find it all very hard to understand why it was ever run that way to begin with.

The same things happen in socialist systems whether you choose to see it or not. Government exists through taxes, and you have no problem telling anyone that they need to pay more. When the government can't pay for eveything, which is inevitable, it leads to rationed care. The same people talking about how crazy bush was, and how much government influence he had, see nothing wrong with the same government taking even more power, taking even more economic and personal freedoms.

The biggest problem I see with this is how much the size and scope of government would increase. I believe Americans should help each other out, I just don't believe it's the governments job to determine when/how much.

Well I just want to see everyone have the same Health Care that I get...That single parent with kids working, but job don't offer health care and he/she don't make enough to get it...or the college student who needs it..right now the insurance company is raping and the rich well hell I don't even see why the screaming so loud it will not break them..I know that I will pay but come on it will not stop me from doing anything I was doing yesterday...I see people complaining and they in fact will not even be affected by this because of what they make, but in fact benefit so its very confusing...but me I'm always for helping out the fellow man just make sure I still have some for me and mine..
