If you've germinated first, didn't plant too deeply, and the temp and humidity are good, you should see your seedlings breaking ground within 36 - 48 hours.:leaf:

People are saying leave lights off until it comes through is this true?

thanks
You can, it doesn't really need the light until it breaks. My own preference though, is to have the lights on - I feel it helps the seedling find the surface easier. Either way you want to do it, is ok.

warmth is also good for the soil, a heating pad or heat mat might help for faster rooting. also keep the lights a good distance from them till there atleast a week old. dont over water and u should be good to go. if u can get a some vitamin B in there like superthrive it is also great from seedling to harvest.

I agree with the heating pad idea. However with the lights, I would qualify that to say, only keep them a goodly distance if you're using high wattage CFL's, or HID lights. Any lower watt CFL (under 42w), or fluorescent tubes, keep them as close as possible, without touching - an inch or two is good. This will also help keep your new seedling warm, and decrease stretching.

Im using a 125W CFL light 3" away is that ok?
Is that actual watts, not equivelant watts? If it's actual, I would move that higher, at least five inches but possibly more, I use lower watt CFL's to veg so I can't say for sure. But if it is that high of a wattage you definately don't want it that close.

Wait, dual spectrum means it is mid spectrum not that at has a blue side and a red side. Anyway seeding with less than 2 sets of real leaves should have cfls of any wattage back a little further. I start sprouts at about 8 inches back then gradually move in to 2 or even one.
