probably bulb....you need to test the ph once all your nutes are mixed. I'm willing to bet you are way low. 6.0 is low to begin with, then adding nutes and cal mag will lower it more. Ph'ing runoff will only add confusion and you'll start chasing the numbers. Get it right going in and you should be fine.

i do check after everything is in it (the water). I ph it to about 6.2.

Update on the ballast/// now it stays on for 5 min 5 min off 5 min on and so on. From everything i can gather. Its the ballast. I took it apart and the fan in it dont seem to work right. So i dont know. This is very fast becoming a cfl grow. Ive got a 600w bulb that should be here tues. Or weds. And ill check to see if its the bulb. Pretty shitty weekend of gathering up lights.

Well my 600w hps grow has now been downgraded to a cfl grow.. Ive done some good cfl grows.. Im going to order a new light end of the week or first of next. What kind should i buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1000 watt is what i think i want??? At least 600w. But if your going to buy a 600w why not a 1000w???? Gimme some ideas. Here are some pics from last night


THE PLANT ON THE BOTTEM OF THE PIC ABOVE IS WAY OFF THE OTHERS. FIRST, IT IS NUTE BURNT. I FILLED THE RESERVES ON ALL THE PLANTS NIGHT BEFORE LAST. LAST NIGHT ALL THE OTHER PLANTS RESERVES WERE EMPTY. IT WAS STILL FULL???????? IT IS GROWING BUT LEAVES ARE NARROW AND DRY LOOKING. NOT DRY TO TOUCH. YOU GOT ME.

600w should do you mate. But it will depend on your area and how much you want to spend on electric. How are the roots look'n ? can you see them yet ?

You've got a very cool setup, brother! I looked at every pic! I was especially intrigued by the design you used for your t8s. That's GENIUS!
I'm in the process of my first grow. Im going hydro. I used fluorescents for their first couple of months, and just recently went to a 430W Son Agro HPS. That design would be perfect for my fluorescents. You could even run fluorescents and HPS at the same time.
I dig it. If I can find a good blue print for that design, I'm using it!
Nice grow! Your kids look great! I'll definately check back every now and again, to check on em'.

subtle, thanks for stopping in. ill post some pics of the system im putting together now for my hydro (aeroponics) setup. for the clones from these ak's. and these will go to flower when i get the 600w hps back (about 2 weeks).

Its been a several days since ive done an update. Been fighting lights and nute burn. I think all the nute burn is gone. All the new growth looks very good and healthy.
I got my new lights ordered. A 600w dig hps system (for flower) and a 400w mh system (for vegging the clones) that i take from the current plants. So we will go to 12/12 by monday or tues. I also ordered most all of stuff for the two hydro systems that im building. Ill post pics of the veg system and flower system as i get them built. Should only be a few days.
I can quite see the sex yet! But there is something there. Its just very very small. I bought a 100x mag today so hopefully tonight ill be able to see what they are? Here are a few pics from last night.

Well i found out that you cant see sex with a 100x microscope. Everything is way to big!!!! So ill just wait a few more days. Should be able to start makin things out by this weekend. Water tonight so pics in the morning.

Well it was a late night. The new lights are here and in use now. I started 12/12 at 6am this morning. Come back on at 6pm. Sorry there are no pics. When i got done i was too tried to snap them. As soon as i can tell sex im going to trim them and take 12 clones for my next grow. I think my male to female ratio is going to be good, from what i can see now!! I will put pics up first thing in the morning. My better half always starts to get mad at me when this time of the grow is going on. I do seem to spend alot of time with the "other" girls. In the end she will be very very happy with the blood red ak-47 eyes. Which are better than betty davis eyes any day!!

Not alot going on. Plants all got water last night. W/ an bud blood. Its the first time ive used it, but it get rave review. So, i hope its some good stuff. The pics are from last night.

If your interested, you might remember me talking about my little garden.(7 bagseed vegging under a 430 Son Agro) Well, mine has taken a turn for the worst. 2 weeks ago I went to my 12/12 photoperiod... I got 5 males out of 7 plants. Well, 4 and a hermie. So it's good to see someone having great luck with their garden.
I'll keep lookin' in on your garden, from time to time, bro.

that sux on the males to female. i think mine will be pretty good. nothing looks male yet. i know that means nothing also, but they just feel female??? the small parts that you can see dont look male. and on the insulation im not worried about the cold. keepin the room warm is easy. thats all another story when it comes to the heat of summer. very hard to keep it cool. i have about finished up my hydro units.
this will be for rooting and vegging clones.

It was somewhat sad last night. You can now see sex and boy does it change from what you thought fast. 3 of the plants are cut down. 3 of the plants are female. The last 2 i wasn't 100% on. I do believe they will be male. 3 out of eight isn't what i was aiming for. The good thing is that i grew these for the clones and some personal. Both of which i will get. I didn't snap any pics because tonight or tomorrow night i will take clones (12) to go into my aeroponics system. I will be running another continuous journal for the hydro. The link will be in my sig when i get it going.

Well 3 is the #. 3 out of 8. Not cool but it will work fine for the clones. Anyway these should flower pretty fast. They are adding about an inch to 2 a day now. 8 to 9 week flower strain. Here are a few pics of the ladies that are left. These are from a few nights ago. I will put some new ones up in the morning.

Digging this grow. I've got some hempy buckets going myself, so I'll be watching yours to see how they progress. One question though...where'd you get those buckets? Those are the perfect size and would make filling the reservoir a lot less messy.

thanks for stoppin in sslw! the buckets came from wal-mart. may be hard to find there sense its out of season. they are the 8 liter size and they do work perfect. i have 5 empties now. come get'em lol.

Damn, my local Walmart doesn't carry those even in season. It looks like they were made specifically for a hempy bucket application.
