I have been looking on here and been trying to figure out the best way possible to keep them quiet. I use the 12" fan with the 150 filter the big one. Any one have any input on trying to keep the noise down?

i have an 8in fan with a big can fan also it helped alot when i got a muffler. you can also try insulated ducting and building abox around your fan

don't let it touch any walls, ceilings, or floors. Put a piece of foam between it and whatever wall it's closest to.

I have been thinking about putting a speed controller on it, but I want ti to work full blast all the time so why should I adjust the speed? Also I have tried putting insulation foam on my other set ups but it doesn't really do that much.. Of course I don't have it up against anything.. standing up in middle of the room and on a rubber floor matt. Thankd to all for any and all input

add some feet of insulated ducting to the end and you would be surprised how much it will help. i would reduce it to atleast 8 by the end.

also if its still to much noise think about insulating the fan istelf or get some cardboard wooden egg craits and make a box around it. the intake makes the most noise.

thanks everyone for all the input, I am going to tackle the problem tomorrow. I am going to add 6 feet of insulated flex ducting and also wrap the fan it self in insulated foam.
