Hello RIU. Is it okay for me to use Schweppes Carbonated water? Or atleast use it to mist my plants? Thanks guys.

Pretty sure that water's got salts in it which are no good, but double-check.

Also, it's kinda pointless to do that, in all honesty - you're going to spend money for little to no gain (won't hurt your plants and will help minimally, but it's not worth the time, money, and effort, IMHO).

Remember to check the PH though. Some of the stuff I've tryed has been about 7.2 to 7.4. Had no problems after correcting it. Try and keep it in an airtight sprayer so you dot lose all the CO2.

Will the CO2 benefit my plant at all? After I check the ph level and all that because I know they breathe Carbon-dioxide.

What you could do is leave it out and open (maybe by cheap supermarket own brand carbonated water) so the CO2 escapes then water the plants with the, now still, water.

That's gonna get real expensive, real fast.

You'd need a few bottles a day, and at that point ($10/day), you might as well just bite the bullet and buy a "real" CO2 system.

Just my $.02.

Yeah that would be expensive if you bought bottles, and let them sit out. But what Im going to do is buy the jugs of Schweppes, and just pour it in tiny dixie cups or whatever and that should last me a long time.

There are 2 kinds of carbonated water. Club Soda and Tonic Water. One has soduim and the other doesnt. I dont recall which is which, but the label will list the ingredients, but you dont want the one with sodium. Just last night, i watered my 4 week old plants with carbonated water. 10 hours later they grew almost 1/2 an inch. A 2 liter bottle cost me $1. There are tiny holes on the underside of the leaves called stoma. This is where the plants take in CO2, mix it with chlorophyll, hit it with light, and create the food the plant needs to grow yummy buds. When the plant 'sleeps' it absorbs oxygen into its roots.

IMO carbonated water seems to be working at this early stage. I will continue this experiment for a week on half of the plants and compare. I pour it directly into the soil. I feel this slowly releases the gas and waters the plant while keeping the leaves dry. Misting your plants, makes the leaves wet, can clog the stoma (temporarily), gets your bulbs and whole area wet, and releases almost all the CO2 right off the bad. Do what you wish, i only post my opinon based on experience.

I am seeing misting of my plants, both in veg and flower doing remarkably well with club soda...Just my view and Im not saying its the best thing to do. BUT I am seeing results. I just put enough that I will be using in an adjustable spray bottle from home depot and mist all my plants when the lights are out. Do this once a day and its crazy how they are growing.

Its been about 2 or so weeks after i did my club soda feeding experiment. The plant's growth has returned to normal, but is larger than the rest. The leaves are also darker, and tougher that the others. I did it only for one week.

Hey I was thinking about this also but since some of you have done it I was wondering if we could get some side by side comparison pics?

Hey guys I came across this thread and decided to try it...And I'm happy to say it was a great success I used sodium free seltzer water(which happend to contain lemon and lime juice to add flavor) this is all natural. This is probably the cheapest and most economical choices you have for delivering C02 and for me the most effective. I seen resualts within 2 days spraying 2 times a day. I'm in my second week of flower I only had very few hairs coming in but after the seltzer spraying the took off now the girls are completely covered.
