Ello all I recently added a 250w hps light to my garden. Once I added the light my largest plant all the leafs started to be pointed downward and the center of the plant is growing rapidly I dunno I'm just wondering what is going on with this plant. the plant is about 2 feet away from the light. Thank you in advance. There is a pic attached also to help.

watering once daily is almost a garauntee that its too much water. put your finger down about two inches and if its dry there not damp then yes you can water. its has to go through a wet/dry cycle

The plant looks fine, the 250 is likely more powerful than what you had on it (CFLs?).
The plant is content to just relax and take in the light, as opposed to the leaves aiming upward to reach the less powerful light.
Just my thoughts,
Good luck friend.

yes I was using cfl's before i had the hps. I suppose the plant is adjusting abit. to the more intense better quality light source. I also have tube flouro's shining over them in combo with the hps so hopefully it is all smooth sailing from here with the broad spectrum of light being available to them. Thank you guys for all your help it is definetly appreciated! :bigjoint:

Even though the plant will be in the vegative state for a few weeks yet i would flush it with a ph of around 5.5 this will get any excess salt build up out of the grow medium.I would always avice flushing a couple of time during the veg cycle it is not just fof the flowering. It can be followed by a good feed once the major part of the water has run off.I would also only water once.Over watering can cause the leaves to droop so can under watering but if you are watering more than once a week then put the plants in the biggest tubs you can fit in the g~room. And water on the same day every day once a week let the plant dry out this will force a good root structure to form.I feel highering the lights is not the answer though keep the lights has close has possible this will cause close internodes and thus give you a bigger yeild.Good luck tyke.
