Spend the money and get a good filter and inline fan. I bought a cheap carbon filter and it doesn't work all that great.
Check out their fan filter combos. I bought their four inch combo, and have zero complaints. My room is a nine by ten and it cools my six hundred watt light enough that my plants are no further than a foot away some closer and no burn at all. My girls just started flowering but so far no smell comes out of my room. I can't smell my grow outside and I can't smell it when I come home from work and walk into the house. I hope it works, I live in a small town and the chief of police and the mayor both live on the next street over. I vent my filter into my attic which has a vent on both sides of the house. I'm not to worried about smell, I have a half acre lot and my neighborhood everyone has a decent sized lot, it's an old established neighborhood before lot space was worth what it is today. There is also much greenery around all year, I live in florida. The neighbor behind me has a huge garden going and he's in it at least four hours a day, so maybe what he's growing will hide any stray aromas coming from my house.
bad idea..be safe and get the filter cuz those are meant to absorb stray smells, not full on flowering ganjaI just bought some shit called "Odour Eater", from my local hydroponic store. Its in a little container that you just open the lid. I haven't really tried it with my plants, but it smells pretty good, and was only 10 bucks. Also if it doesnt work, I can always buy 2 more for 20 dollars. 30 bucks is a lot better than 120 lol
