First grow

First off, I'm way broke right now, so I'm not going to be able to add anything else for the time being. Somehow I was able to acquire:

125W hydrofarm CFL system w/ daylight bulb
150W HPS system
ocean forest potting soil
cheapo potting soil for seedlings
3 pack of fox farm nutes
ph up
ph down
ph tester
jiffy cups
three 1 gallon pots
cheapo small fan
thermometer
3 seeds

I have a white painted grow area:

42" tall
32" wide
16" deep

I want to get started, but not sure if I should do all 3 plants, or just 1 or 2 until I can get some more lighting.

Sure, more lighting would be great, but can I do all 3 plants with what I have and get decent results?

as long as you can rig some sort of system to move your lights up and down in the grow space you should be fine
and you can always pick up a couple 42w 2700k cfls before you flower to keep the growng fast with the shorter light

i would do 1 or two considering the lighting cause itll be more light for the two and theyll give more than 3 just fighting. have you germinated them yet?

If you have regular seeds and not feminized, I would do all three - otherwise you may end up wasting time growing out a male.

wowisuckatthis, Yes, I heard CFL's are great for 1-2 inches away from the plant. I do have a "system" for up and down. I have a braded picture frame cable that I tie in a knot very carefully, if that's a system.:)

newb101, that makes the most sense, but I'm really hankerin' to try all 3 and see what happens. If it's totally a no go though, I won't waste my time.

doeeyed, yes 3 feminized. I read somewhere that even fems can come out male? I did buy from a reputable company in the UK.

you really should try all 3, not likly that you are going to get more than two girls out of 3 bag seeds. and like i said you can veg them on that amount of light, and even flower if you dont want real nice nuggs, but its about a 30 dollar thing to throw in a few more cfls before flowering.

I hear ya. I was thinking the same. I did find a relatively affordable 2 Lamp 4 Foot T5 High Output Fluorescent Fixture for about $72 shipped that I was thinking about. Got to pay some rent first.:wall:

Maybe I could do 3 plants for a month on my 125W hydrofarm cfl, and add the additional 10K lumens from the T5. Only problem is placing the T5 alongside the rather large 125W cfl. Maybe on a side wall of the grow area?

Feminized seeds shouldn't come out male - I think you would be more likely to get a hermie from them, than a male.

Yep. A hermaphrodite plant only gives female and hermaphrodite seeds, so seed banks just sell them together as feminized seeds.

I could be seriously wrong with this, this is just something I overheard.
