Things are going well. The SLH and MK reservoirs were changed on Thursday night while the WW is catching up nicely to her two sisters.

The SLH continues to grow in a funky manner and it will be interesting to see what shape she will naturally take. I think it may naturally grow two main shoots... we'll see.

The girls have been named too... the SLH is Lucy, MK is Peppermint Patty and WW is Sally. I don't remember the stoned thought process for how I got to this point... but I love Christmas and I was thinking of cartoon names. I figured that since the majority of this grow will take place during the Christmas season, why not name them after the girls in Charlie Brown's Christmas. Just like my first grow, trying to surround these girls with some good energy.

They sure are cute little things.

Keep up the good work bro. :bigjoint:
they are, aren't they jigs? thanks man, things are basically on autu-cruise now.

Hey Never thanks a ton for your help so far. I ended up posting the pics of the two maturing buds on my grow journal, but here is link directly to that post instead of putting the pics up here twice, etc.

Thanks bro.

I like your setup, it looks cool just from that one recent pic. Do you have a grow room setup thread at all?

Hey btw, just as your buddy jig seems to do, you are growing some nice damn roots there.

The grow is three weeks in and things are looking good. Changed the reservoirs on all three girls tonight.

For Peppermint Patty (MK) and Lucy (SLH), I went with 5ml per gallon for each of Gro, Micro and Bloom along with 8ml of Hygrozyme.. The nute soup turned out to be about 550 ppm (see pic below). pH is at 5.8.

For Sally (WW), I went with 2.5ml per gallon of each and 8ml of Hygrozyme, with the ppm around 200. pH at 5.9.

Warmed back up these last couple of days so my box is back up to around 80 degrees F.

Lucy's growth gets stranger every day. I'm pretty sure she is growing three primary shoots. I'll have a much better idea in a few days. I'm sure her bud will turn out just as good, but her shape is definitely going to be interesting. See the pics below.

With PP and Lucy both 20 days into vegging and Sally 13 days in, I will continue going with 20/4 lighting for at least the next three weeks.

I notice the humboldt product in your cabinet. You plan on using that this grow?

They look great bud, 20/4 light is interesting. I am old fashioned on 18/6. You notice much difference when using 20/4?

Do you cut your light drastically the last few days of your grow at all?

Girls are coming along nicely and growth is really starting to take off now for all three.

Lucy (Super Lemon Haze) continues growing in her own crazy way. For a little while, she couldn't figure out her leaf pattern with the shoot growing out of the split leaf... some leaves only had four leaves while others simply looked deformed. But she figured herself out. There are at least three or four main shoots growing. There was also a really deformed growth near the first node which hasn't really grown at all over the past several days, so I trimmed it off (see pics).

I topped Peppermint Patty (Master Kush) today using Uncle Ben's topping method. She had established her fifth node and started growing her sixth, I pinched her right above her second node. This will give her four main colas.

Cabinet temp remains in high 70s to low 80s.

yeah, i will be using the humboldt products on this grow, all three of them. purplemaxx to increase crystals, bushmaster to halt vertical growth, and gravity to harden the buds.

there's really no scientific logic behind the 20/4 lighting. i just wanted to give the girls a little more light to see if it would increase growth, but also still wanted to give them the dark time to rest. honestly, i haven't seen that significant of a difference. if i grow again, i would probably stick with 18/6 just to save a few bucks.

and for my first grow, i went right from 18/6 to 12/12. for this one, i may try out the whole 24-36 hour dark period that some people do.

I'm going to set up my next grow how you have your grow..... this is awesome i can't wait to see how it goes.... nice job man
thanks neversmoke. this set-up is great for someone who isn't looking to grow a whole closet-full and needs to be discreet at times.

Been a little while, been really busy and just got home from a business trip. Girls are doing really well, growth is really starting to take off.

On Tuesday night, I changed all the reservoirs, went with 12.5 ml (per gallon) of Gro, 7.5 ml of Micro and 2.5 of Bloom. PPM around 900, pH at 5.8.

The Master Kush took to the topping really well, four main trunks are now growing.

The Super Lemon Haze continues to grow strangely, but I've figured out her pattern. Her main trunk is growing sideways, essentially low-stress training herself. With each new node that comes out, she grows only half the set of what she is supposed to. Otherwise, she only grows one leaf and then one new internode. Each of these internodes, however, grow straight up so they become a new primary "trunk." I made a rough drawing of it to better explain... yeah, done with a laptop fingerpad.

Lastly, I topped the White Widow today, exactly one week after topping the MK. See the pics below.

I'm going to stay with the 20/4 lighting for about another two weeks, maybe a little earlier depending on how big the girls get.

The Master Kush and Super Lemon Haze are really taking off now. The four main truncks on the MK are well established and the SLH currently has about 3 main trunks. The White Widow took to the topping nicely and is also in the process of growing 4 main trunks. Man the WW is a bushy little girl, she hasn't really gone vertical yet. She almost looks like a pile of leaves laying on the container.

I changed the res today, going with 15 ml (per gal) of Gro, 10 ml of Micro and 2.5 ml of Bloom. pH around 5.9.

When comparing point-in-time, this grow is definitely bigger than my first. We're entering the last week or so of 20/4 lighting.

The girls are also starting to give off a slight scent. It's still subtle, but you notice it when you first walk into my place. I will be putting together a carbon filter in the next week or so.

Yeah, did a picture comparison of this master kush against a master kush from my first grow... same point in time and this girl is three or four times the size of first. Needless to say, I'm thrilled. All three girls have really taken off with their growth over this last week. So here's the updated plan.

Tomorrow night, I will flip the switch and go into a 36 hour dark period. Going to top the res off and then seal the girls in, pitch black.

On Saturday night when the lights go on, I will start 12/12 lighting with the 2700K CFLs, and keeping the Agrosun bulb as it is.

I'm going to let these girls stretch as tall as my cabinet allows. When they're close to the height I want them to be, I will add Bushmaster into the res. I imagine this will be in two weeks or less.

As for the res, I will keep it with the current mix and the middle of next week, change to a transitioning mixture.

How does this all sound to everyone?

thanks flinstoner. these bushes are starting to turn into shrubs. the roots on these girls really are coming in nicely.

thanks jigs. the easy part was up to this point, let's hope i can keep this up. i'm paranoid i'm gonna burn/hurt/kill the girls with the Humboldt County products.

yeah the white widow is a small one. keep in mind she's also a week behind the other two, but still, she's one compact girl.

all 3 of those plants are looking amazingly healthy good job bro, and nice top on the widow should turn out good
thanks hookedonchronic. not sure if you read through the whole journal, but the master kush was also topped. the ww is really starting to take off from the topping. i'll post some pics up tomorrow night.

cool cool and yea that master kush looks amazing, how was the smoke? u said u already cut some?

as for the 36 hours of dark before flower, i wouldnt bother with that, just put them in flower

at the end of flower put them in 36 hours(or more) of darkness, trick them into thinkin its the end of the world and apparently they produce crazy resin, never tried it myself.

NS... I'm with you being wary of HCO products... just go small.

I've now sucessfully used the Bushmaster twice, and the Gravity twice as well. Patience is key.

You got the mix I use off my journal? If not I can reproduce it here. Works like a charm.

As for the plan it sounds good. You might want to stop them with a few inches to go... just to be safe. Otherwise sounds awesome.

Looking forward to the progress my friend.

Started 12/12 lighting today. Once again, switched to 12/12 lightiing earlier than expected. The girls are growing at a much faster rate than my first grow and though I built a bigger grow box, I decided to switch to 12/12 in anticipation of stretching.

I ended up not going with the 36 hour dark period b/c I transitioned my first grow very well without it. Plus I did browsed the internet a bit more and there really is no solid proof, only opinions, that the 36 hour dark period actually does anything.

Topped off the res tonight, the MK and especially the SLH are drinking a lot of water. I accidentally let the res get too low in the SLH and she got a little nute burn on some of her leaves.

Just about every day that I go into the box, I'm bending and squeezing the main branches to help them grow stronger. I compared some of the branches which I've been working and others which I haven't and it really makes a difference.

You can really tell the difference between the sativa and indica plants. Take a look at the pics.
