Reflector Question/Seed question

Hey guys, i understand its preferred to have a reflector above the lights, i am using a closet for my first grow,its fairly large, and most of my money has gone to the major supplies, so i was wondering if there was an inexpensive way to maybe use a reflector? i was thinkining maybe tinfoil above the light, but i wasnt sure if it would keep in too much heat. Can anyone give any suggestions? And also i am going to be growing with soil, anyone have any good suggestions as to what strain to use? puhleeeaaaase somebody help, im almost ready to begin and i dont want to go in half ass.

you can use tin foil if you are using CFLs, but not with HID lights.

You can use white plastic garbage bags on the walls or whaite panels or tin foil.

You can make reflectors with coke cans, there are several Tutorials here on how to do that.
