Ready for 12/12?

Hi,
This is my first post and also my first grow.
I'm growing 6 plants of Top 44 strain from seed.
My plants are on Day 16 from when I placed the germinated seeds into soil.

I'm growing under four 40W 4' cool white fluo's. I also have four more warm white fluo's for flowering, I know this isn't best but until I know if I can grow at all, I prefer to not put too much cash into it.

I keep temperatures around 80 with the lights on, around 72 with the lights off. I'm keeping them on a 18/6 cycle for now.

My question; are they ready for a 12/12 flowering cycle? They have quite alot of leaves but are still pretty short. I've heard Top 44 stays short though.

Also, I know the bottom leaves seem to have some burn - I think I did that to them by leaf feeding them with the lights on. I haven't done it since the new leaves started growing.

If you have any comments or advice for me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

WAAAY too early to go 12/12 man, that thing looks like it's going to be a beast. If you MUST go 12/12 early, then at least wait until the plant has six sets of leaves.

Good luck.

As Inquisitive stated above, waiting pays dividends. The longer you wait, the larger the plant, the more bud you get. The other side of it is if you are going to flower with flouro tubes your light penetration is not going to do so great. If you need to wait 8 weeks for flowering cycle it may be best to give the plants half a chance of producing some bud by waitin and vegging longer and having more bud sites.

You can switch it to flower, but I don't think you should, just yet. However you decide, remember that she isn't going to flower regardless of when you put her in, until she is mature enough. Right now, she isn't.:peace:

A plant can and often will grow 3 times its size in the flower stage. So every inch you wait will mean 3 inches added in flower. It pays to wait and gettem as tall as u can.
