CFL? Bulbs

My mate gave me about 20 of these bulbs.. i want to know what can they be wired to....and what light output/lumens have they got cheers for your help

they have 9w/840 on them?

no idea , looks almost like an aerogarden socket fix, the840 would be lumens and 9 watt is pretty low , what kelvins are they look for a 2700k for example.

just found out off my friend he said he took them from a housing estate outside lighting?
can these be wired to a grow box if yes how so>

yeah they could , but im not an electrician and there not even good lights. if your serious dont waste your time on 9 watt lights. are they even the rite kelvins ? u want 6500k lights

If you don't have the fixtures I don't think they are worth experimenting with.

Actually...if they are putting out 840lumens for 9W, that's not terrible. That's roughly 8400 lumens for the equivalent of 90w (You have to figure on some loss)...and I imagine you could stuff those little bastards right in on top of the leaves. Of course...you'd have to figure out a way to wire them first.

27w CFLs give about 1600lumens (average rating, some higher, some lower).
3 x those 9w lights should theoretically give 2520...making them about 150% the efficiency.

Keep in mind, you'll experience some loss due to position, or possible wiring, etc...but still, if you could figure out a way to use them and get them close, they might turn out quite nicely.

Great post man cheers does anyone know the Kelvins? there very bright i got one to work and it heated up quite fast!

Found out there 4000k warm white!
