Yes a fan thats designed to be recessed into the ceiling. Getting a 80 CFM bathroom fan is very cheap online and in stores in my neck of the woods - Sometimes they are a little lower CFM. Mine was 11.50. I was just picking up some hard tube ducting for a new room I'm building and saw a 50CFM model for 9.95. Anyway, its a square metal box that has a 4" port for exhaust. Its partially shown in top right of picture 4.

If getting a fan like this is $80, definitely go with the inline fan. 10 bucks vs inline fan? Well shit if the 10 fan works why not? But if its 58 for a bathroom fan and 65 for a true inline fan . . . . there shouldn't be any question.

Hope you find a cost-efficient option,

Hey Bud
Well it depends on what your running really, for ME using just say a 40# filter a bathroom fan wont do at all, let alone with 1 or more cool tubes. My 435 is just enuf for my 2 cool tubes and filter, all 6". Im actually gonna fork out 99.90 for their 8" fan and use reducers cuz its 735CFM.

I mean if your venting air and thats it then they might do if you have short duct runs.
BUT they are just good for a small space.
Just depends, if your gonna need more than 1-3 then def just get a inline.
Bathroom ones are more quite Im sure.

Do NOT get the hydro farm active air fans, they arent near as nice as the CAP ValueLine ones.

I got subbed one (I ordered a 2nd) and they send me a active air one and Im not near as happy with it.

Wow, you just rip off the door? Wouldn't that look a little suspicious? Can you just affix the canvas to the inner part of the door frame? That way you can shut the closet door in case someone has to go into your room for some reason. Maybe I am just visualizing your setup wrong.

Of course, I already cut holes in my drywall, so I prolly shouldn't be talkin, haha. Wish I would've seen this post about two weeks ago...

i took of my closet doors ONLY because i 100% needed the space that they took up, i wish i could have kept them up so it looks legit if i need it too.

Panda film is a decent idea, however I haven't been able to find that stuff readily available for a low price. My neck of the woods its pretty spendy.
Hey Thanks a lot Grizzly! I just started my 1st indoor grow(germed:10/10/09-Hindu Kush-400 watt MH/HPS mini system-Faford #2 Mix soil) & am
about to transplant from 20 oz cups to 8 inch planters. I was concerned about air intake/outtake, but your post opened my eyes. Keep that beard growing!!!

Yeah I lost the legit look, come into my den from the front door and you will find tons of rigging for lights, bags of soil, buckets, ect.
And thats on a normal day
come in my back door and you will hear my intake inline fan in the closet roaring away, Id play it off as the central HVAC unit tho.
I dont let anyone in my home, period.
I have cant keep my grow room door closed let alone worry about the closet, thats where my 2x 1Kw HPSs are and I long ago removed those doors.
So Im screwed if I cant keep em at the door.

You could always tack up a big tapestry over your door and tie it to the side like a curtain. If someone may be goin near your grow just cover it up real quick. A tad suspicious but at least it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. ;-)

But if your paying to live somewhere then your bedroom is YOUR private area so noone should b dicking around there.
I treat my house like that, fuck that shit.

I dont even let my friend come inside period.

Hi Grizz, Cool post.

Talkin about fans, I used them both. Inline and squirrel cage. If I needed to run air down a ducting line say six feet or more I would definitely use an inline fan because it pushes air farther down the line.
However the squirrel cage will move more air a shorter amount of distance. Like the bathroom fans.
I use an 80cfm Bathroom Panasonic whisper fan because I dont move the air very far and it is much quieter then an inline fan.

So It depends on whats important to you. I think.

used your idea on the blackout material works amazing. i also modified some other things as i am in a 6ft by 3ft by 8ft tall room. really its just a sealed up empty laundry room. i am using 8 inch ducting passive intake and started with a 50 cfm bathroom fan but wasn't nearly enuf, so i upgraded to the 4 inch 171 cfcm valueline inline for exhaust and cooltubing my 600w lumatek. ill try and get sum piks up soon just got the first sprouts in there all feminized G13 labs WW, Midnight kush which is taking off, and super skunk.

panda film is nice, I use it on windows, you can also jet to home depot and buy some styroboard and that works 2, also a plus if you need insulation/sound dampening.
