Ok i never really venture into my tent during dark periods, but having so today i have realised my humidity is a serious issue! ITS 84!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!

Anyway im just entering my 6th week of flower and im worried for obvious reasons about it being this high. Its absolutely fine in the light periods with the HPS glaring down it sits around 40. I didnt think it would raise that much in dark as i have a 150 Vents fan running on intake a 150 Ruck fan on exhaust and a oscillating fan in the tent also. So any ideas what to do guys? Im on limited funds so dont really want to stretch to a dehumidifier unless really necessary, any cheap ways? Will i get mould if these humidity numbers carry on as they are in the dark or will the balance of the light hours carry me through? OMG im desperate please help :D

Many thanks

Sometimes when you have a lot of time and money in a grow and a lot to lose, you just have to suck up unexpected expenses to save it. I think you need a dehumidifier. You can get a real small one at Walmart for maybe 30-40 that might work in a tent. Remember, if you get bud mould you not only risk losing the crop, but anyone who smokes it can do serious harm to themselves. You want humidity down to the 40s. Is it possible you can just take it out of the tent to finish?

There is a product called damp-rid. You can find it at Bed bath and beyond in the states. Not sure about the U.K. Using a fan in the tent will help a lot. Humidity always rises as the temp falls. I keep my RH at about 50-60% during the day and it jumps into the 70's at night. I've never had a problem but I keep my air moving and good exhaust will help as well.

Ah this is where the problem lies i reckon outside its even higher, i re-read wat it was inside and it was @ 80% outside it went to 90% before the meter had an eppy and failed to read any higher, so put a dehumidifier outside the tent so that the air going in is at least drier?

try a marine supply {port supply, west marine, whatever} and get a cabin dehumidifier, it looks like a gold wand about 30 inches long with an a/c chord.probly around 30 bucks these days. just checked golden rod dehumidifier at west marine is 36 bucks

I keep my dehumidifer outside of the flowering room near my passive intake. It keeps the humidity down without heating up my flowering room.

sending the bf out to get a dehumidifier as we speak>>> gonna try the bowl of rice in the tent itself>> cant hurt i guess :D
Just remember that your night time humidity will always be higher than the daytime. That's because warm air holds less water or something like that.

get a fan blowing on your plants. i bought a 200 dollar dehumidifier that sits in storage and a $20 fan that took care of my problem

You need to cut humidity in half. I don't think you will do that with rice or even fans. I'll bet the dehumidifier gets it down, but even at 60 it isn't good.

Wat another fan?, already got an oscillating one in the tent already. I guess if theres wet air coming in to begin with all a fan is gonna do is circulate the wet air more not alleviate the humidity per se

i have high humidity during flowering as welll and use a grow tent, i usually keep it about 70-75 with a dehumidifier (best i can do with my location) and keep a oscillating fan on them 24/7 i have no had bud rot yet (and my humiditiy also used to get to 80 at times) u need to keep fresh air on them and inhibit mold, when your intaking new air into your grow tent, your really taking humidiity and putting it in your room you absolutley have to have a dehumidifier
