ridiculous anti pot show on A&E

So im watching this "documentary" on pot on A&E and it is pissing me off so much. Everything in it so so exaggerated, they are talking about how all growers have armorys in their house, and that everyone has Pit bulls( which are not mean dogs by nature). They say its drugs and not medical. One guy complained about his neighbors meter spinning, WTF. The music in the show puts on this scary bad presence about weed. Its negative propaganda and i cant believe its allowed. I dont see any shows on alchohol or prescription drugs, the stuff that actually kill people. Im getting real tired of this bullsh**. They say o i dont feel safe and blah blah blah. Its ridiculous, absolutly ridiculous. Then they show a real MMJ patient smoking and then hacking and coughing his lungs out. This is really unacceptable. They leading people into a mind set of marijuana being a drug on the level of coke and meth, etc.

Well i just think its ridiculous, and i cant get it how people say these things and have no clue what they are talking about, cause they did no research.

One guy said his neigbor is grower and he saw a drug deal go down lol

He said I guy came in a car with a Briefcase and he had a pitbull in the car lol OMG their was a dog in the car:shock:



Oh yeah and the idiot who said his rent was going up...........give me a break your 50 fucking years old and you rent a 2 bedroom house close to the oceaon for 800$....and they wanted to raise his rent.......................maybe if that asshole could get a real job instead of a bogus "Music tutor" he wouldn't be complaining.

I think they are talking bout pot city usa... i could be wrong, i actually recorded it tonight, about to sit down and watch it. just waiting for the kids to go to sleep.
I can tell that im going to be angry by it, and im sure I'll be back to vent about my frustrations a little later. I'll be back lol

I watched the show. I have no problem with it, at all. It's about a town where 1 in 7 houses have been turned into commercial grows and the houses are being destroyed, violence has increased to a level of paranoia for some residents, and people are forced to move to safer ground. You know, if we are going to advocate for the legalization of marijuana in this country, it might be wise to recognize and respect the rights of others in our quest. Just say'n.

i'm agreeing with jeff on this one. I'm 2 commercial into the show... this curtis guy is a really sad case. I like how they make it seem like they are taking in both sides of the debate... they just told curtis and his son's story and ended it with the word "but" and moved onto a more violent topic. they didn't say "but" when they moved onto curtis' story... it just goes to show you the media is trying to turn you against pot.
the neighbors do have their rights, i agree...but i'd say if a doctor is willing to tell you that you need medical marijuana to get better, no one has the right to debate that.

Very good point. I agree completely my friend.
I think though, that the ridiculousness we are expressing our frustrations over is more-so the 'fear mongering' aspect of this showing. A good percentage of personal grows are small end and for personal/semi personal use. It gives these people a bad look and vibe to them thats nationally broad casted. To me it's somewhat of a similar frustration as a professional athlete would have when another takes illegal steroids to compete and as a byproduct negative light is cast on the sport and other sportsmen alike. I, as a grower don't want people coming to stupid conclusions any more then they do on their own about how I lead my life because of the evil child killing opiate like drug, THC. Lock up your children,evil's afoot!

Yeah i seen that show tonight, if i had some one on my property looking at my shit they would be meeting my little friend i mean come on, that guy must have been really paying close attention to notice the breifcase and the dog and everything, and then the lady that was on there saying she has not slept in two years i told my bf maybe she needs to smoke then she could get some sleep right, and how can you blame weed for your rent going up makes no sense to me, if you don't like it move i say. I would have liked to ask those ppl on that show how many of you partied when you were younger and would you put it on everything if you said you never did.....I sure would have liked to have those trash bags full of buds though...lol

Yea, that's pretty typical of TV or the media. In the long run they will lose that battle, and already are in a lot of ways. That's why they have to exagerate. People that are in their 60's now are really the first generation where marijuana use was wide spread when they were in their 20's, and they're aware that it isn't the "devils vice" or any of the other bullshit that their parents believed it to be. That generation is just begining to get itself in positions of power and influence, and as time progresses more and more people will realize that they've been lied to about marijuana. Anyone who's ever smoked realizes that whatever A&E is saying about it, isn't true. All this does is expose them, and make anyone else who tries to fill peoples heads full of shit about marijuana, look like a complete liar.

It's a harsh way to say it, but the fact of the matter is that people are going to have to die. Naturally of course, and their warped ideas will die with them, opening the doors for people who know the truth, and have the power. I'm 29 and don't really expect legalization to happen over night, but I think by the time that I'm 50 there is a very strong possibility that it will be legal across the us.

The police aren't worried about marijuana itself. A lot of them will even tell you that. They're worried about the money that it generates. They're worried about the violent crime that it may or may not have anything to do with. It really boils down to money. It's funny how if you get caught with 20 lbs of weed you can be set free and make the charge almost disappear with the right amount of money. If you don't have the money, you go to prison. It's all about your fatass dirty dollar.

I have no idea why the media perpetuates such stupidity or why it collaborates so well with the government in a never ending cycle of inefficient ignorance that contradicts everything thing it stands for.
