would depend on your style of growing. Some might say 25( 1 per square foot) some would say 100 (4 per square foot). But the most important factor would be how do you plan to light this area? Would your lighting be able to supple 50 to 60 watts per square foot?

I'd say like 10 if you want them decent sized, but you coud do 20 or so if you really wanted. It really depends on how you grow them. If you flowered rooted clones you could probably 75 to 100 depending on the strain.

I'm growing 16 in a 4x4 area, if that helps.

Really depends on how long you want to veg them for and what your tolerance for plant numbers is - if >99 plants wasn't so taboo to me, I'd be running 64 in my 4x4 tent.

If you want the best grow in a tight space, with less mess, check out the FogBox system. I have pulled almost 1.6lbs from a 3 x 6 closet grow with 1000w Hortilux w/SuperSpreader light defuser. Light was about 10-12 inches from the canopy at the end. It is pretty tricked out to get that, CO2 w2ith PPM controler, water cooled light & ghetto water cooled rez chiller, T5 side lighting, ect. I've got pics & video around if anyone cares. 1lb/1000w is pretty standard with these things. Google fogbox or search on youtube for some pretty cool shit.

I'd say you could manage a pretty tight squeeze, given that you will be using such a powerful lamp. Reason being that you can afford to have the light about 18" above the babies. Top them when they're 8", they'll fill all the space, and stretch up like savages. 18-24" plants in 30 days (usually :P)

im doing 2000 watts in a 9x9x7.5 room and i have 30 plants. their at a foot now and doing great. hoping to end at a little over 3 feet.

People say light light light but if your do you research if you don't have enough co2 and that is more than a lot then your light will just bounce off the plants. More plants means more co2.. Can make them much smaller and get great colas but you must use 1500ppm of co2 and that is 1200 more than normal air..

The number of plants is less important than the amount of light. Lots of plants will mean lower yield per plant but probably more work and more trouble if you get caught. You can lower the number of plants and still get the same yield (up to a certain point). I'd experiment to find your optimal number (which I happen to think is nine :))
