problem with lights

hi guys im not sure if my lights are at the right distance for the top of the plants ive been told to hang them 50cm from the top throughout the grow can any1 help thanks again:joint:

If you are growing with flouresents then do what i do in my cloneing room.Have 4 cfl's on each wall have these warm spec this will give you the heat needed to grow a healthy plant.Then at the top get fouresent tubes i have two sets of two 4 tubes these are cool tube because i can have these a cm off the top's this is important because if the plants become leggy i class this has a waste of grow.You want the internodes has close has possible to get the max from each plant.One the plant's have roots then i put them under a 600hps i have the light about 12 ince of the tops with two fans blowing on the light.The reason that i have them blowing at the light is this is where most of the heat come's from.So if the light can be kept cool then you have won half the battle then i have another fan to circlelate the air in the tent and two inline fans to take the stagnent air out.This way the light heat is always been replaced with fresh cool air.Once swopping over from cfl's to hid or hps it takes a little time to key the room so i would do this in advance.But there is no comparasion to hps lights the yeild is 10 times that you will get off cfl's.

Generally you want to keep a 600w 18 to 21 inches above the tops of the plants. Unless of course you have a cooltube or the like.

im talking realistically....
generally u wanna keep a 400w @ 12in but i keep mine 6-10in without a cooltube.....only a fan blowing over the canopy
just my thoughts
