well don the four Northern Lights go down today, and the five Blue Venoms are going down Friday or Saturday. after that i am going to do a yield and smoke report. also i plan on doing a small FYI on the importance of quality lights that may be a little more pricey versus more affordable, cheaper lights that are lower in quality. it's not going to be anything major but i will have side by side comparisons with pics, and yield comparisons of both of the NL phenos and the Blue Venom. so be on the look out because that's gonna be coming in about a week.

thanks for the compliment. i have dabbled over the idea of introducing more plants in the mix but growing the way i grow(no topping,fimming,or LSTing)just straight up, i don't want any over crowding. but i was recently inspired by Madazz and Butters to do a screen type thing. instead of having my 3x8 space full with 12-14 pots, i can get 27 pots in there if i top 'em. with three screens, 9 pots under each one. and with that i'm going to put out 9 pots every three weeks. that way i can handle strains that go as far as 9 weeks. get it 9 weeks is 63 days divided by three is 21 days. so after my first harvest i will be harvesting every three weeks. but i said all that to say "yes my friend ,...you are correct." i do need to get some more in there. hell i figure if i get three quarters of an oz., give or take, dry from each plant that will be somewhere around 6.50-7.50 ounces every three weeks. i dont know, maybe. what do you guys think? one square meter under a 400wt hps, what do you think it wil be? just curious what you all think. any way on to the next post.

ive been thinking about the whole scrog thing myself n wondering how much of a difference in yeild id see from fimming and supercropping. im all about upping my game, i recently looked into airpots. thats my next step... after that maybe scrog we'll see.

so in terms of lights whats your take on the best, i recently looked at eye hortilux but they dont have a uk supplier

man i would not have even considered it if i had not topped one NL, and one Blue Venom, mind you which was the first time i had ever topped anything, but i liked the way they grew. and i figure if i can have 50 to 60 tops that look like these i will be a very happy camper. the first five are the Blue Venom and the next seven are of the sativa NL pheno. yea, 50 or 60 of those kinda tops, yea i think that'll do.

but "HELL YEA DUDE" is better. although i am Black i don't use that word whatsoever,as a description, a term of endearment, or anything. now please understand that i'm not trying to check you , or put you in your place, or anything like that, ok, it's just that basically, i have erased it from my vocabulary, and really i just don't like it.

but anyway, back to the plant., i can't wait. oh yea as far as the bulb, i'll get on that later. don't want to spoil the fyi and get into it, before i get into it, you know.

none taken my freind, my skin is real thick. just putting that out there. i figured it wasn't meant in a racially slanderous manner anyway.
and as far as the light thing i will probaly put it at the end of this thread. but you know what, i think i might just do a small thread on it, just to see what people are working with. maybe settle a few facts and crush a few myths because guys, and gals out there are wasting valuable time(2,3,4, or maybe more crops) before they figure it out. so we'll see how it turns out.

Hey, what are your temps like right now. You still dealing in the 90's or are they more manageable now? I had like one week at 75f and now they've dropped down to freakin 70! I HATE ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS! Hate'm. Now I'm gonna have to like put a treadmill in my grow room and get my ass running to stir up some heat. It'll be like the new version of The Biggest Loser. I can't stop running until it hits 75f even and not a degree before.....or....I could just buy a cheap-ass space heater.

I've always hated that word, and any like it. Probably more than anything because my dad was the poster example of racist, and I hated that... it was one of his favorite words. I live in a ghetto (truly!), and hear it tossed around constantly and carelessly. By blacks more so than whites, which has always gotten to me... how do you "take back" a word that was created in such a hateful connotation? (No offense to you, Don. Just my personal feelings.)

what up d! well i actually cut and trimmed my NL plants and got 'em hanging now. waiting till saturday to cut four of my five BV's. i really dont want to put up any pics until everything is cut. but i will leak one out to the press. thes are both phenos, the one on the left is the indica pheno(kinda short and stout) the one one the right is the sativa pheno(long and compact). hope you guys like.

zen, it all looks awesome man. How long do you cure? im sure that is going to be the hardest stage for me.... curing. If I see a huge glass jar filled with weed I'll try to microwave or cook that shit so I can smoke it , its gonna suck watching it all become gorgeous for at least 30 days.

ok, this is where my name and actions contradict each other. honestly man i hang mine up and it usually takes three to four days to completely dry, maybe five. but however long it takes i never let the buds get to the point that they are so dry that they are crunchy and brittle, never. after that i put everything in my jars, date 'em, label 'em, and put them all in a nice dark cabinet. now here's the most important part man, so you have to follow what i say to the letter,ok. please don't have me wasting my time laying this out to you, because i really, really want you to get the most out of your smoke,ok. you ready? cause this is the most important part. immediately after i close the cabinet up(like 15 seconds tops), i open the cabinet back up, grab one of them jars, and smoke the shit of "that" jar while the rest is curing.LOL.
naw man i let mine cure until it's gone. in other words i just keep mine in the jars till it's smoked up. because one it's dry, to me, it's go time. cause for me, speaking for "myself" only, the only thing the cure does for me is change the taste. the potency pretty much remains the same IMO. and really, on the real, i smoke to get a real good high, not to get a real nice taste in my mouth, although that is pretty cool. but yea man once it's dry it's all fair game to me. give it a try, hang that stuff up, and make sure it's dry, dry. please don't microwave or oven heat it, please. that will be a total waste. because the heat that is drying that bud out is also melting your trichs. so you end up with dry weed, but minimal trichs, which means minimal thc, which means a mediocre to lousy high, which means you've just wasted three months. but i'm sure you already know that so i'm not trying to insult your intelligence, ok. look here man this is my motto, and i hope you use this phrase to help you through your walk on the trail of enlightenment : If It's Dry...., I'm Getting High!!!

they are running about 73 to 84. it's cooled off a bit so with the exception of a couple of warm days here and there, i'm super cool two more days till the BV is done. oh yea i think the space heater is a better idea, unless you're like an ex-olympian.LOL. oh yea the first screen is actually up and running. been working on my next journal. i plan on putting it up after i finish with this one, but it looks awesome. oh yea the mother cabinet, i kinda took you and kat's experience with your tents involving the suction effect. i have a passive intake through the floor, you'll see what i mean.

Your not wrong there Zen, back in the home country we were lucky to be able to buy weed that was dry, everyone sold wet gear...

I have to say this is an incredibly extensive, and useful guide. I've been growing for a year now in coco, and have definitely picked up quite a few tips from this masterpiece. I'm really excited because I picked up 6 baby BVs today and will definitely be seeking your advice and this holy grail of information. I can't put into words how helpful this thread is.....keep it going dude you are by far better at explaining and helping than any of the growers I've met, or the several hydro shops that really are just trying to sell you something. I was hoping I could post my feedlist and see what you guys thought of what I've been doing and how I can tweak it.

Also as a soil mix would you recommend pure coco, or something like 60% coco, 30% hydroton, and 10% perlite (what I ran the last two grows) or some other combo. I'm transplanting them tomorrow, and still haven't decided what to do. Thanks again!
