check out the pic. 400w cooltube. THIS IS FOR A 3.5FT X 3FT X 8FThigh (6 plants, pretty typical grow space)

1. would it work(with 1 exhaust fan)?

2. if yes, how powerful of a fan would i need?

3. would it work better with the axial fan added?

please lemme know your thoughts.

That would suck out hot stinky air into your room. I would just use the 400 watt cool tube connected to the inline fan but on the other end of the cool tube put a carbon filter. That way there won't be any stinky air getting out. Check out my journal I am using a 400 watt digital ballast w/ a cool tube and carbon filter, the link is in my sig

tom nice setup, smell isnt really an issue right now, but i would like to get a carbon filter in the future.

now your using a 300cfm? does the carbon filter restrict the airflow at all? how are your temps?

My temps are good but I have my intake attached to a window bringing in cool air
The carbon filter does restrict air flow but not that much
In your situation I would leave your cool tube open ended and have the inline fan sucking the air out through the open end since smell isn't a problem
Make sure you have a passive intake that is at least 4 inches wide

dude be very careful here. I just spent a lot of money setting up what is close to my dream setup and didnt take into account venting the cool tub. If you put an opening right next to the fan like that it WILL NOT pull the air off of the cool tube effectively. as for putting a filter on the end I tried that with a 435cfm fan AND IT SUCKED. It still isnt big enough for my tent. I actually have the fan on the other end PUSHING the air off the cool tube and into the attic. after long nights of 90+ temps this is the best way I have discovered without spending another $200 on better fans.
