I believe he is doing this as a trigger. I have a buddy that goes 48 hours of dark while switching to flower in order to trigger his flowering stage a bit quicker. He claims it works, but.... compared to what? I use advanced nutes bud blood for my trigger. I had white widow flowers starting 3 days after I switched. Works well IMO
