How clsoe should i put my lights if....

... Im growing indoor Purps with a 400w HPS and Ive made enough room for about 9 plants
Also, should this light and indoor setup be sufficient enough for the quantity of plants?

Ive only ever grown with smaller numbers of plants and smaller lights so Im new at this and this setup type

The only thing Ive read was depending on the lights to set it at 22 inches from them but its not much help considering everything esle... also
If anyone knows where light should sit from planting the seed to harvest that would be great help:roll:

Yea there's no exact number.. You can get closer to the plants if you have a fan blowing the heat up and away from the light.

But as a general rule of thumb if the heat is too strong for the inside of your forearm, it's too close..

As for getting 9 plants under that 400W.. It's possible, but you need to pack them as tight as you can together and dont let them get too bushy. The light penetration wont be as efficient when they get bigger.. Search the forums for "lolli-popping" this might be something that would help with ur grow..
