You have to give Obama a break on this one since he was not expecting this or would he want this. This is the fault of the Nobel Peace prize committee, they should have given the award to someone that actually deserves it. The Nobel Peace Prize has always really been a joke, the Dali Lama got it, he only wishes for China to get out of Tibet so that he can continue the age long practice of oppressing the people and denying them the services that they need. Most people do not know how Tibet functioned before China took it over, this is not condoning China and their practices, but its truly a choice between a oppressive dictator and communism for Tibet . And Mother Teresa took money from Dictators who stole from their people and gave it to the Catholic Church to build more buildings, and increase their power, and believed that people should actually suffer to become closer to God. She helped more people die then anything. Not exactly the saint that the Catholic Church loves to paint of picture of. Take the Nobel Peace prize with a grain of salt and ask your self what the person actually did, people like MLK and Mandela might have deserved it, but a lot of other definitely did not.

But he could turn it down,knowing good well he has done nothing to deserve it.
But many who have gotten it did not deserve it either.

I woke up this morning, saw this stupid shit on the news and was like what, huh, for PEACE? Why didn't they give him one for his flawed and failing economic policy? I mean I think he's fucking the country over with it but he at least "has" an economic policy. Last I checked he didn't broker any peace treaty right? If he gets one i outta get one for not letting my dog kill the neiborhood cats. Thats more than ole "hussein" has done for peace.

First off, the peace Nobel is not the same as others. It's a political football.

Second, Obama was nominated 12 days after he won the presidency.... HUH?????

Third, he should DECLINE the Nobel. That would go a long way towards building some real trust, and showing he has the capability to be truly humble. He hasn't done a thing to deserve it.

He should DECLINE it. In a way, they are making a parody of Obama.

I too, was shocked by the news, but surprise, surprise... Either way, you cannot fault a man for winning an award. A colleague just won quite a prestigious book deal the other day and was hated by many of his peers. Why? Jealousy. Envy. We see through you.

Here's my suggestion - why not give the nobel peace prize only when it's deserved? Why do they feel the need to distribute one every year? At times, there'll be off years, where no one deserves the award.

Who's to say that he has been adjusting everything he does to garner the trophy?

He is after all, an elitist first and foremost.
