Grow room temperatures!

My closet grow (25"x59"x 96") is averaging around 90F inside with an outside temperature of about 70F ( so venting into the room outside the grow room is no issue as temps never rise outside more than 75F).

I have a small fan near the intake (6" hole) and at the top of the door is the exhaust (4" vortex) i run a cool tube in the room with my 400w HPS (ballast inside the room). My question is why is my room so damn hot?

I have the light 8" above the plants and 2" above the canopy its 90F. Below the canopy it ranges from 75-85F (w/ a RH of 30 at the top and 55 halfway down).

Im thinking of putting a bigger fan and hanging it 5" below the light to push that hot air back and up towards my filter(exhaust is away from the open door) - il try this tonight but does anyone have any ideas on what to do? my plants seem to be doing ok but not 100% (which is what i would like... but dont we all?).

any ideas are welcome!

(I have metal tubing attaching the exhaust hose to one end of the cool tube just in case the vinyl hose melts - i will be upgrading to metal when i get the chance to pick some more up - just so nobody has to bother about telling me its not safe.. the cool tube and the air doesn't get hot enough anyways and its new tubing so it smells so good..)

thanks

Take the ballast out or get a bigger exhaust fan, you want to be in the 75-85 range at plant height
The exhaust fan is too big as it is for the room.. and i cant take the ballast out because of security reasons. My landlord comes and goes and i cant have too many wires coming out of my closet. Its cold above my filter/exhaust fan but hot below - im trying out a bigger fan to circulate the air inside the room.

75-85 is fine. 70-80 is perfect. 40-50% humidty... make sure those fans dont fail

How much air are you pushing threw the cooltube and where does it vent to?
it vents into my bedroom were my intake is with a big window and like 9-10' ceilings and the air is moving in the room because it only hits 74F at 9 in the morning (1h before lights on) and my door slams sometimes and scares the shit outta me..

I was just being general
What seems to work best for me is 80-85 as babies then start dropping down to 75-80 at about 10". Going below 75 seems to slow growth a bit but harden maturing buds

Ok so all i needed was something big enought to push the air under the reflector/cool tube back. under the reflector its now 25C and the ground temp is 22-23C. I guess the air wasnt moving fast enough so it built up a huge pocket of hot air.
