Done right, 4 plants with 4 42w cfls on each could very well yield a pound.

I run 600s and 430s and cant get those yields and Ive been growing 30 years.I run 1 600 and 1 430 in a 6x6 room and pull about 2 lbs of 75 clones in the sea of green

Yeah if you want to grow a bulk of weed then the only proper equipment would be a hps. It will cost as much or less then setting up all of those cfls, you will have way more light to work with, and it will be done with less energy over all.

If someone can pull a lb off of four cfls I would be very impressed.

LST or not cfls don't have enough efficiency to be worth it for big grows. And if you wait the plants might get to big for the ammount of light and not beable to put up buds and only support their already growing photosynthetic material.

I got 1.5 ounces off one plant with cfls.

So if I multiplied everything by 11...I'd get that pound and a 1/2 ounce or so for stash.

If I vegged for longer...maybe I could cut the plant number down to 8.

Another poster said 4 plants...they'd be trees!

It'd be something nice to see or for someone to try! I used to be able to get QP's or a lil more in my rubbermaid setup I used to have. It's the one you see as my avatar and I have a couple of links from past grows.

Honestly, I believe it could be done w/ a decent set up and CFLs 42 watt and above. At least 4 per plant, and just speaking on my behalf...w/ I'd say 5-7 plants I think I could pull it off or be really close to it. Not gasing myself up, but just from trials and tribulations, these plants love good CFLs. I'm actually in the process of putting together my new grow room and I still use CFLs but Im about to aquire a 400 watt HPS and have two rooms. One with my HPS and one with my CFLs.

All I can say is never let someone say you cant do something, w/o at least trying it first :) Light placement is key as well as the thumb thas putting everything together. I say someone start a thread...."CFL growers united: We're growing Brian Urlachers over here" :weed:

Not discrediting anyone here...but if there's a will, there's a way! And til next time, happy :blsmoke:

Well im not here to debate sir lol I mean yea it'll def be harder than HPS but anything is possible. I would like to see someone try it though...i might try

Ill bet you a thousand bucks that you cant put enough cfls in one room to grow a (dry) lb.
of course you could.

if someone believed that you'd actually pay up...you'd be proven wrong pretty quickly.

Would you use a ton of cfls? Yes. Probably about 50 - 23 watt cfls and several fluorescent fixtures. Would you need major ventillation...or atleast a very large room? Yes.

Would you pull a dry pound after a single crop? Yes.

Make room for all the cords and fixtures. It would take a 6 month veg and still dont think its possible.I see people think 20 grams on a plant is two ounces dry. Most people way overestimate thier wieght.
