Water Pumping Schedule - WHATS YOURS ?? (PICS!!)

Hey guys,

My first hydro set up and I am starting small to learn then someday changing over my Veg and Flower rooms.

So I know that each system is different and will change depending on the size of the plant, but wondering what you use for your watering times?

Seedling/Clone Site
1'X2' - 15 site top feed system. I have a 6 gallon res with a 230 GPH pump feeding each of the 15 - 3inch nets filled with a RW plug and hydroton pebbles. 4 - 23 watt T5's on 24/7. Average Temp is 78-81 deg. Res is 71-75 Deg (need a chiller!)

My local hydro guy says start with 2 15min feeds a day.

Any Opinions?

I don't top feed at all but I think the question might be not so much how often as how much and how often. If I were using it I would start with a target of how much solution I wanted to deliver and at what intervals, THEN I would determine how much my system delivers per min and set all the times accordingly. But this is what I don't like about drip and tube feeding - you can calculate what should be happening but invariably tubes get clogged and things go wrong. Whenever I tried top feeding I was so paranoid about it and checked it so often I may as well have hand fed them.

ps another thing you could do is load up a netpot with hydroton and rockwool or whatever and no seed. Try it on several different schedules and monitor it to see how wet it gets and how wet it stays. Use that to dial in a schedule that you like the results of.

I water 1 minut every 3 hours, I don't change it at all.

People use a very wide variety of watering schedules. Its hard to under-water and its easy to tell if you over water. Pick a schedule and change it only if you need to.

Wow thank you Roseman... and can I say having a Master Bubblehead chiming into my humble thread is .... Awesome!!!. Thank you for the help!!

I.S. this is the most brilliant reply!! Thank you for your thoughtful insite!

There are people using plain dwc and outgrowing people using feeder tubes all the time and Roseman full well knows it. Feeder tubes have long been debunked in a small system like that, they are a solution in search of a problem.

Yea my seedling/clone system is really a Flood/Drain of sorts. Certainly not a DWC version of any sort - bubbleponics or not, as each of my 4 inch pvc tube's fully drains into my 6 gal RES. From what I have read their seem to be multiple schools of thought on adding bubbles to the res when using a tube to top feed as the flowing over the hydroton splashing causes as much oxegenation.

Eventually I will move my girls to my mother tent. I guess it will be a similar setup but with 6 inch nets. I will shut off the feedtubes when the roots hit the water on that one. New clones will come back to this set up and be rooted to go directly into my flower room for SOG.

I.S. you are a Ganja Master and you have helped so much on multiple threads of mine, thank you!https://www.rollitup.org/images/smilies/bong7bp.gif
