You might be better off with the 10 if you have space. Ive seen some pretty tall plants in solo cups but allowing the root system to spread out/ take advantage of a larger space is greaty beneficial. Its going to help with the speed of plant growth.. give you a lil .... wait a minute????? are you doing hydro or soil? if its hydro the 8 is good enough ... if its soil ill continue... Its going to help with the rate the plant can grow, the watering will be more controlled creating less stress for the plant ++ when you think about flowering.. less stress brings more flowers/faster growth

you want the pot to be as large as possible.. so if you have room even go with larger than 10 inches. ive seen 5 gallon buckets root bound by not even 2 foot plants.. they were bushy as shit .. .great nugs

best method for stealthy and quick root growth is the "pot up method".
start with 4" pots untill you see roots at the pots bottom holes.
then go to 8" pots and do the same.
and finally into a 10" pot and which can handle a very big plant (4-5ft).
