Mixture of lights?

Alright so im growing two plants, i have 4 6500k CFls, and 2 2700k Cfls. Is it good to mix these during the veg state? i know to use 2700k when flowering but how bout the veg state? any tips are appreciated.

Yea the ratio is 2 to 1 blue so like two 6500k to one 2700K the same wattage is the right mix for veg. You got it. Reverse it for flower.

blue is better for veg and red is better for bloom but ive always heard its good or at least its ok to mix spectrums. Im no expert but more light is more light. Im pretty sure you could grow with either spectrum all the way through

Yea, I have tried both, blue is better if you only have one light, red will veg too but you get about 75% of what you get with blue.

If you add red to blue you get about 125% of what you get with blue only.

I have used LED's, cfl, T5, T8, MH, HPS and now Ceramic Metal Halide.
I like it so much I wont go back.

Thanks Cruzer i appreciate it.

And you cant put CFL's too close to the plant right? one of my plants is just starting to get it second set of leaves,(not the Cotelydons or the first set of pot leaves) and they are a little purple near the base. Could this just be because they are supposed to be like that? (im not sure what strain my plants are, a friend gave them to me.) thanks again

I have burned leaf that touches 26 Watt CFL's it was fine until it rested against the light.
So to answer your question, yes they can be too close. 1 to 2 inches away is perfect.
