Here it is finished, housing a 400w MH.
Thanks man.pretty damn good DIY if i do say so myself
Not sure what you mean. The air comes in one side, goes through the tube and out the 4 inch hose.is one side of the light sealed
Dropped the temps by five degrees. 400w MH.how cool is it and what size light
Yeah it's pulling it through. I currently have a 90cfm inline fan, but will upgrade that if I feel I should drop the temps more.Looks great bro, nice work...your pulling the hot air out yeah? What cfm fan do you have at the end of the ducting_?
See that's what I was thinking. When I begin to flower and the room starts to get some fragrance, I will get a higher cfm fan, connects more tubing on the intake of the cool tube, and connect a carbon filter to that. See where I'm going with this?Cheers, i guess it aint too stinky at the mo but what will you do about a carb filt later on, will you keep the tube vent and carb filt/extraction separate?
Sorry, im a newbie and just wanna get my facts right (!) but where you have the open end of the cool tube, you could have more ducting to a passive vent and draw air from outside the growspace, that another possibility...?
cheers bro happy growing!
Exactly, just like that!think so...!
you mean like tom_420 has got it set up...?
and you should change your 4" vent ducting to foil type.Exactly, just like that!
Plan on changing it. However this tube isn't getting hot at all...and you should change your 4" vent ducting to foil type.
That plastic gets brittle and could cause a fire. It is even outlawed for dryer vents in most states.
Otherwise nice job.
Well that's a good idea. I suppose most people do it for space constraints though.Well good luck with that...
i was thinking tho, why not eliminate the ducting and just fix the carb filter directly on the end of the cool tube without the ducting...i cant see the advantage of using the ducting btween tube and filter, wouldnt having the filter closer to the fan increase the air suction through the filter? i guess maybe it wouldnt make that much difference...what cfm would you need to cool your 400w?
Nah man I didn't see that one, thanks! That is awesome!Yeah thats what i figured too...
Dunno if you saw this, this guy is a legend! Soooo ingenius...diy pencil pot and tights carbon filter!

Cool huh?
Ah nice one. Didn't even think of that.I have my diy cool tube attached to ducting and the top part of the box so that it will suck all the hot air that rises. Heat rises so if you have the c/f up high it will suck it out. I have found that it keeps temps a little more in check this way
