different soil when transplanting

My plants are in 4" pots with normal Miracle Gro soil right now, and I'd like to use something different when I transplant, to make it easier to control what nutrients they receive. My question is, would it be a huge shock to the plants to switch to something like Fox Farms (a soil which most people here support) after transplanting? Thanks!

Its a good idea to transplant them into better soil
They might be alittle shocked from the actual transplant, but its not big deal

great. thanks both! any personal soil suggestions? i'll be mixing with worm castings and perlite, just because i have them on hand

I don't live in the US, but people seem to prefer fox farm.

I use simple potting soil for flowers, works great for me, but hey, I'm on the other side of the world.
