You're still around these parts?i use straight tap water.
Not everyone is blessed with good tapwater. Mine is shit. You're still around these parts?
straight up tap water for me, even for hydro. Never a problem, and my nutes bring it to ideal pH. Never understood all the RO hype, letting it sit for a day, etc. Sillyness...

Mine is hard as fuck....500-600 ppm straight outta the tap. pH is 8.5. Completely unusable for anything but showers and washing laundry. I can't even water my house plants with it because they quickly die.oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh mine tastes so good.
crystal clear and soft.
LUDA.
My soil grow, I used ph adjusted city tap water. I also let it stand for a day
to be hounest i dont know anything about the parts/per/million of water never even read anything on it and never will as its of no concern or importance when you grow in soil.Mine is hard as fuck....500-600 ppm straight outta the tap. pH is 8.5. ......................There's your answer right there. He said it.
No other posts needed..
Seriously... you can use regular tap water man.
Just make sure you leave it out without the cap on, for at least a good solid 24 hours. This lets any Chlorine or any other chemicals evaporate into the air.. that may otherwise really harm your plant. Possibly kill it.
Just my 2cents worth.
ya dig? Peace..
I tried growing with my tapwater. I'm telling you it killed my plants dude. I switched to r/o water and haven't had that problem anymore. Believe me, I wouldn't be toting 5 gallon jugs to store if my tapwater worked for growing.to be hounest i dont know anything about the parts/per/million of water never even read anything on it and never will as its of no concern or importance when you grow in soil.
some may disagree but in my opinion its a waste of time.
ph test the water yes but all this r/o water and ppm testing is just a joke.
plants did not evolve and grow in nature (gods way) with all this testing all this so why should we ????.
i would love to hear why r/o water and ppm is so important(in soil) but its nothing i ever have to deal with.
just grow organic and all will be fine.

Def in hydro. But in a soil grow you can add some dolomite lime to your soil mix. Nice ph buffer, source of cal and mag. I think their name is '123filter' on ebay. You can get a nice 50 gal system for around 125 bucks with shipping.go to the water machines in front of grocery stores or convenient stores... 1.50 gets me 5 gal. if you use r/o water you have to add cal/mag nutrients to the water.
The water picks up a bunch of copper and other metals off of the condenser coils. Also bacteria......No thanks. What about water from a dehumidifier drain tank? It's just the moisture from the air... Can't be that bad can it? Plus if you have to drain it might as well use it if you can.

yeah thanks but hey what if I do boil it? or if my tap water is in fact like 6.0-6.8. I cant afford getting a 150-250 dollar water filter I need other options lol
