going really well but need help PICS!

Hey guys my plants are 43 days into veg, 1 widow 1 afghan kush using a 175 mh straight soil and a little superthrive in the water every now and then. My only concern is yield, i've heard of things like topping and supercropping, lst or something and a few others to increase bud sites but nobody has given me any good details yet, got any? thanks..ps how do they look for 43 days?

Your plants look very healthy; just keep it natural and 43 days? I hope you have space once you start to flower because they will triple in size

persanaly if you have the room in hight then just let it grow. hell i got 412 gram off one plant with out topping, supper croping, or any thing like that.. light penatration is the key to yields for indoor..

thanks for the advice, so you think i should just keep it up the way im going? i plan to bud around 2 feet, do u have any idea on how much they will yield? my guess is about 1/2 oz per plant, maybe a little more

yeah space is a bit of an issue but will have to be worked out haha...i find that the HID bulbs penetrate much better, i have a couple of cfl's going to supplement for the lower leaves so we'll see

I would start using an organic veg nut fer about 3 weeks more (only use it @ 1/4 rec strength since ya aint been usin any),then flush, then add a flower fert @ 1/4 strength alon w/that veg fert. Also put into 12/12 now. Then after 2 weeks of that, flush, then next watering up the flower nutes to 3/4 rec strength (keep on the veg nutes @ 1/4), after 2 weeks flush, drop the veg nutes, and go to full strength on the flower nutes. Ya keep usin superthrive, too, but I would up it to 2-4 times the rec dosage

if he veg'd for 3 more weeks, he would have more popcorn than nugs with a 175w ...

and you don't need to flush anything with organics

They look great for how old they are, about the LST SCROG SUPERCROPPING and TOPPING- I would LST and top if you want to, either way you should LST it can sometimes increas the yield opening light to more bud sitesss... This is just my opinion some ppl sware by SCROG or SUPERCROPPING

i went with a 175 w to conserve electricity (my utilities situation is complicated) but what do you mean about more popcorn than bud haha? anyway yeah i think im going to try LST and some flower nutes, anyone think i should bud now or wait?

i would switch today and even pull down and tie the lower branches so more of it gets light. that 175 mh doesn't have a lot of penetration so if you dont tie it down, you will get a lot of underdeveloped buds below the canopy

Ok so I suppose i can start to slowly bend the plant over and tie it? i don't want to snap the plant..also, this method helps increase bud sites?

Very untrue. On ALL accounts, actually. Flushing is necessary to help dissolve the salts that build up w/ANY nutrient solution (including O). And the longer ya veg the more bud ya have, popcorn nugs come from not PRUNING lower branches.

Partially true. If ya tie down, and do not prune the lower branches, then the lower branches will still be in the shade of the upper branches, just the INNER branches will benefit.

All I was explaining to him was what to do as far as nutes and the schedule, I wasnt actually gettin into the whole ball of wax

wrong ... popcorn nugs come from lack of light ... you can get rid of them early by pruning

but why would you let your plant grow for another 3 weeks and prune off all the old established growth just to make way for immature new growth that will never be sustainable under his light?

that plant will be an uncontrollable monster by the time it veg's for 3 more weeks and flowers ... especially with only a 175mh

Check out uncle ben's topping. Do a google for it, and you'll find the forum on here for it. It's a recipe for a 4 main cola plant
