Is it possible to grow sativas in a small space?

Hi all
I'm designing my small grow cabin these days, it's 27" high and will have a cooltubed 150w MH and later 150w HPS for the flowering period.

here's the design i made: https://www.rollitup.org/grow-room-design-setup/239381-small-grow-cabinet-need-opinions.html

I want to order seeds from Nirvana-seeds, I found the Eldorado ones pretty interesting, but they say it's growing high.
White widow for example is 'medium'-height.

I wanna know if it's possible, with LST or whatever method, to grow sativa seeds and get enough yield for myself?

second: Can those strains I mentioned grow under 12/12 lights from seed? And if so, do I use only the HPS or the MH and then changing it to the HPS?

I'm a little confused with this 12/12 method..

Thanks!

You can grow sativas in a small space by using topping, LST and short veg times. I wouldn't recommend going 12/12 from seed although people do it with success. You just won't get as good of a yield. Best of luck and welcome to RIU my friend.

Of course you can grow a sativa in a small area but while it is possible it may not be all that practical. You will of course have to use some method or methods of training/topping your plant(s) to keep them low but if you are talking about a small space that means few plants. Making a sativa stay low and grow wider will take up a lot of width because it will still want to grow as much as if allowed to grow tall, the growth will just be spread out more over a low area.

Again that means less room for plants (plural) and since unless someone is growing a sativa outdoors in a region that gives it the natural conditions it would need to flourish and maximize production a sativa will produce a good bit less when grown indoors, even under the very best of indoor conditions.

Basically you will end up with a lot of plant but little production.

Do not take what I am saying wrong, I am a MAJOR sativa lover. To me indica was a curse cast on the marijuana world.

I figure the Garden of Eden was overflowing with sativa plants and only after that bukiak Eve fell for Satan’s snake oil sales pitch along with the rest of the horrible things that then began to appear in the world indica was one of them.

So I say if you can grow sativa do just that. But especially when doing it the way you are thinking about doing it you do have to be willing to end up with a good bit less final product for your risk, time, expense and efforts than if you picked a cross of some sort or even a (YUCK) indica.

What's wrong with indicas? I prefer sativas and sativa dom strains as well but I like a good indica too.

thanks everybody, lovely information
Brick Top: I actually wouldn't mind to blow the space up with one plant (it's 25" width x 25" depth - the cabin is almost a cube) as long as I get a decent crop (like 10-15 grams)

so is this 12/12 really a risky option? what method will probably give me the nicest buds?
I know it's a dumb question I just want to count on others experience :)
