Harvest or no harvest?

About harvest I understand to harvest when the trikes are at 50% milky white and turning amber is to far. What I don't understand is where do you get 50%from , is that mean on the plant or within one anywere on the plant? Then how do you know this at least 10 days before you cut them down inorder to flush and only water?

Amber trichs are actually dying.
Triches start to die slightly after the reach peak maturity.
So you let some go past in order to get a majority of ripe trichomes.

If you have a magnifying glass you check them daily...once you start to see let's say 40% then you know you are almost there. I just check one cola on each plant as my plants get different amounts of light because of placement.

40% of what? First off you have to have 100% of somthing to get 40 % of anything. Do I take a look just one area or the whole bud?

well it means like 40-50% of the hairs on each bud sometimes the buds on top finish first so you could cut those and leave the bottoms.... also when you know you have waited to long you will see the hairs start to dry out and start to curl...... myself personally i like to leave the buds on till i see like 70-80% finished.... because i like a more sleepy munchy stone so i wait a little longer.... and i find if you wait a lil longer the nuggs are a lot more dense.... but thats just my opinion..... hopefully you are growing diff strains and have alot of plants that way you can cut one down an dry and see it in 3 days to see if it looks finished and dense.... i think patience is the best when growing weed a impatient grower loses weight an potency...... also i trick i found is if you want to smoke some bud before all is dry dont try an dry it faster what i do is i use a volcano vaporizer and i set it higher than normal and then i can get hits from the wet buds .... but that is when i am desprate to get high and no weed is around.... like set volcano to 8 and let the bag keep filling..... it wont be the best hits till you keep burning but i have gotten some good highs an quick taste off weed i just clipped off a plant.... but again that is impatience..... when a nugg is fully dry and you can crumble and roll a joint that stays lit that is pure satisfaction
