I got some earth juice grow from the local garden store, so I followed the directions on the bottle and tested the water with my TDS meter.
My tap water is 25 ppm, and 1 tsp of nutes in a gallon of water is ~76 ppm.
I was under the impression that the ppm level for vegging should be like 800.
Anyone have any adivce? should I use more nutes?
Thanks

Dacomella... Organic nutes register differently on TDS / EC meters than straight chem nutes. Chem nutes have ph buffers, dyes, and highly conductive mineral salts in concentrated forms.

Organic nutes are bound differently, and don't register on TDS / EC meters like the chem nutes. Most of their NPK value is bound with carbon and hydrogen, which are less conductive.

Earth Juice nutes are decent nutes. You are using them at a pretty weak level. The above recommendation for using 2 teaspoons or 1 tablespoon per gallon of water is more in line with what Mary needs. She's a hungry girl once she gets past the seedling stage of growth.
.
Your TDS / EC meter is fine for checking your water, but with organic nutes it will not be much help.

Hope this helps....
