I have never attempted this, but am interested in trying it out. I have seen many methods on the web, and am wondering which methods / products work well enough to spend the money and effort to do. Any suggestions?:leaf:

HASH, or Hashish, is caked and baked kief, formed into a chunk, clump, or patty, or solid lump. . Kief is extracted trichomes (resin glands)

Let me revesrse that.
Those so called crystals (slang term) that appear on the bud leaves, are called trichomes, or trichs.
When removed, the trichs are callled KIEF. KIEF is gritty, and sticky.,,,,sort of like very small granuales.
If you remove the trichs (KIEF) and collect them into a mass, they called HASH.
Frozen or very cold trichs are removed easier. You can use a silk screen, or a Kief Box, or bubblebags, or a Space Grinder to remove and accumulate them. Again, we get them from the "trim leaves", leaves trimmed from the buds, or we can just use the buds. The resulting HASH is very high in THC, a Mind High..
When I think of OIL, I think of taking the EXTRA leaves, the FAN leaves, and drying them, grinding them up in a blender, with High Octane or High Proof Isopropyl Alcohol, or a liquid that is very evaporative, like the dangerous Butane Liquid.. You mix the blended leaves with the Alcohol, and then evaporate the alcohol out, and you have OIL left..it is like a thick TAR. Not as high in THC, but very high in canabanol., and veyr much the body high.

Here is HOW:

you will need is some 100 or 90 proof isophyl alcohol.
The leaves need to be dried and from female plants.

And you will need a PERMANENT COFFEE FILTER........ABOUT $3 AT WALMART.
HASH OIL is not really hash oil. It is the oil of the leaves. They just call it HASH OIL.

Very simply, keep your FAN or SHADE leaves. The leaves that do not have visible trichomes on them. Put them in open shoe boxes or card board boxes, in the dark, in a dark room, or under the bed. Let them dry for 7 days, stir them daily, to make sure they are dry and do not mold. Then freeze them or save them in a dry box or paper bag.
You fill half a blender full of the crumbled dried leaves.
You add half a bottle of alcohol, the highest strenght you can find.
BLEND them up. Add some move leaves and alcohol and blend them some more.
Get a NON-DISPOSABLE coffee filter, it is micro-fine, and strain them, keeping the liquid. That liquid is alcohol and oil, half assed mixed. Then you evaporate the alcohol out, takes a week, maybe 2 weeks, depending on how much alcohol you used. But be patient and let the alcohol evaporate, leaving a very sticky, THICK oil. It is almost like TAR. VERY GUMMY!

You sill need a small sealable bottle to store it in,.

It is MESSY, use a stainless steal bowl.

What you are doing is mixing alcohol and oil, and then separateing it later.
Just like oil and vinegar salad dressing, they mix, but then they separate.
You use evaporation to separate them, that is why you use alcohol. WATER will not work!
Get the proper pipe, I like a glass bowl, and put one half drop on the end of a needle or pin, hold the flame under the bowl until the oil smokes and then hit it! Make sure you are near the sofa or a chair!









To make that hash oil, you got to have a metal fine mesh filter. A permanent non-disposable coffee filter works great. $3.00 at Walmart!

VERY IMPORTANT; IF you make the OIL, you have to let it evaporate for a week or two weeks. IF you smoke the alcohol, it will really mess your lungs up.

Kief Box:

This is a WICCA Kief box, the very best one on the market. There is one slightly larger and one slightly smaller, and you'll need one to make HIGH GRADE blonde Lebonese or Blonde Afganey Hash. You can buy them at a "head shop" or "smoke shop" or "herbal accessories" store or order them off the internet. Do NOT get a GRINDER Box or Spaceship Box. They make low green or brown grade hash.

Left over fan leaves make OIL. The left over trim leaves are for making HASH.
Those CRYSTALS, (slang term) on the leaves are called trichomes, while they are still on the leaves. In Europe, they call them resin glands. AFTER you remove them, they are called KIEF.
After you bake them, into a lump or chunk or cake, they are called HASH. That is where the HEADY HIGH THC is.

Most people make HASH a difficult way, called Bubble Hash with ICE and Ice water. If you google HASH, youtube, you can watch 300 videos on how to make hash. The most difficult way is BUBBLE hash with ice water and bubble bags. The Ice water and blender method is easier.
I use a strainer, or filter or screen, that is in my kief box, to remove them.
MUCH EASIER FOR ME!.
After you save up the trichs, or KIEF, you put them in a cellophane packet from a pack of cigarettes, pack it, use a roller to press it and make it hard. Tape it up with cellophane tape, wrap it with wet newspaper, tape it again, bake it at 200 degrees for 5 minutes on one side, and 5 minutes on the other side, then roll it again with a rolling pin or large glass, , pressing it again, and bake it again twice, 5 minutes each side.

Sweet thanks, found a nicely illustrated vid on youtube for the gumby method. Do you think hash bags are worth the money? Seems like it would make it easier / faster.

i use that wet stuff to make butter roseman... makes a strong butter and i just pop it in the freezer for a rainy day the buds i smoke don't get processed that would take the enjoyment of smoking the buds away.... peace roseman

i dnt think there worth it... i came up with my own way of speeding things up its kinda hard to explain though still gotta let it all settle but i can get outta waiting for it to dry

I like the gumby method too, no need for 5 - 8 bags - worth of straining - just strain it once with a paint strainer bag (5 gal), let gravity do the work. youtube it.

I saw a dude on here stretch panty hose over an empty Pringles Patato Chip tube and freeze his trim, put it in the tube and shake the kief out on a mirror.

Easy way I didn't see or reconise here is. to run everything through a kief screen(box) then into a celophane(cig wrapper) then tape w/clear tape, wrap w/ newspaper(again tape) then run under hot water to sat paper. bake(on sheet) for 15 minn at 350, roll it(or press if u can) then bake again for another 15 minn and repeat. easiest way I know and works pretty damn good.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qZYBw9ols8

I dont know guys .. but i bought the bubble bags from ebay for 58.95$ shipped... or something like that... and now i have 4 grades of hash... and 1 of those grades i didnt like at all .. so nice to know its not in my final batch. I dont know I think for 60 bucks having the experience of having different grades is a must for a grower... I mean were not just potheads here... were fuckin growers... Gumby method is ok if you dont care about the different grades and you want to wait... With the bags and the dry pressing screen they give you your all set... so i dont know.. its all on how you look at it... check out the latest on my thread for pics....

I actually came up w/ a method similar to the pringles can method mentioned before. using 2 mason jars a piece of 150 micron silk screen (art supply stores have this) but i got mine from a T-shirt store i just asked if they had any scarp lol, so i may not have 150 microns but it works. Take the 2 lids pitch the centers and tape em together back to back. Get some small ball bearings, place em in one of the jars, into the same jar fill it 1/3 full w/ ground herb that has been flash frozen (to harden the thc crystals) pull the silk tight over that jars and screw the lids on tight. Now simply screw on the other jar. so now you have 2 jars 1 top 1 bottom w/ silk dividing the 2 and shake the fuck out of it for 10 mins or so, you can go longer but the more you do the more plant material will be in the hash, i like this method because it doesnt take all the thc out, so the buds can still be smoked although they are now pulverized still work well for placing the hash on top of to smoke

The best thing that you can do is go to your local art shop and buy some printing screen.Buy the smallest hole grade that you can get from them and perhaps 3 size's up.Then go onto one of the web sites and look up how to make the screens that you will need.But too be honest dude i know hash if it is good grade a is well worth smokeing but it is too much like hard work for very little results.There should be no need to make this hash if the weed that you are growing is grade a.I understand it is good if you are doing it to get the best out of the plants that you are growing.

what to you do with yer trim,,,, make hash at least i do how bout you sounds like you through it away and make hash out of nice buds. there was a book years ago prolly still around called from trash to stash thats the only reason i make hash is to use every piece of the plant why throw away good stonies why use nuggets thats a real waste...

I came up with this idea, while reading Frye's post, get your four layers of micron screen, make four frames out of wood (strong enough to hold the weight on the outside with crumbling in). Ex: 3x3 or 4x4 - an sturdy. I would propose, doing something with an edge to keep all the water from running everywhere. Now, fasten those four different screens to the four different frames making sure they are taugnt. Stack, the four frames on top of each other, leaving room between each screen, say (2-4 inches). As you will have to play with the height adjustment. Then have a catch pan at the bottom of the last screen for water, add hose to bottom pan to reuse water at top again. Easy, how about that? Will, show example of diagram, need batteries.
