Im still doing it and i have NOTHING fancy just a fishtank and a light.... Also my plant. I kbow i probally won't win im just doing it for fun.
 
Well, also, I want to post in the topic as part of the group...but still I don't know if I should be counted as part of the competition, because of my modified plastic cup, and that I plan on making further holes if I end up LST it.

I'd like this to work out so I can do it as a cycle. I love to smoke, but I'm cutting down for various reasons. I figure if I can make a tiny plant jumping right in to 12/12, so it is a manageable size, I hope it just produces enough for me to smoke while I do that cycle once again.

Like lets say it takes 60 days from start to harvest, a 1/4 oz would be fine. Not what I'm used to smoking, lol, but I can deal with it to have it fresh, clean, and free.
 
Here's my setup...I know there's only two that you'll be able to see roots. If anyones got a prob, they'll be my only entry, and the ones that you can't see roots, will not be part of the contest. So the sprouts are my entry


 
I just switched the bulb I'm using, from the 24w(100w eqiv) 6500k 1600 lumens....to my 42w (150w eqiv) 2700k 3000 lumens bulb.

I might order a 65w (300w equiv) 2700k bulb, since I'm sticking with the single bulb setup.

For my own purposes I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible.

can i get in on this? my grow looks like sharpies without the holes, im using the same cups he has. i actually started doing this at about the same time you guys did without knowing it wasnt making a competition out of it though... i'll post a pic later if its ok i join in.
 
i think this shud be a window-sill grow competition, alot of diffrent cfl setups or wat if i go put it in my super veg container, wuldnt be fair? cuz i cud get a seed to a 6 inches in 10-15 days in that
 
In the 1" pot topic, there is a post (I'm too brain dead to recall the guy's name) who post a pic of a small plant he grew. He said he trimmed the roots other than the main root. Is this something advisable? How would this be done?
 
I wouldn't mess with it im pretty sure root damage can kill plants, roots have a cap of dead root cells that make it easier to push through soil. Trimming the roots would just make it harder for the plant to establish a root system, wich i dont see how that is a benefit.
