People say a lot of things and often times are incorrect.

Possibly whoever said they paid for something and did not receive it yet did experience exactly what they claimed but possibly not for the reason they believe it to be. When I called part of what I was told that the warehouse is being revamped so that could easily cause shipping delays.

Also I would be curious when the person who claimed to have paid and not received anything placed their order, that is if they ordered online, because since the website has not been fully operational you cannot place orders so you cannot be charged anything.

I always wonder why it is that people on sites like this always jump to the worst conclusion about things, readily believe the worst things that people say and have such a deep seated need to tell others with more positive news that it is likely they are wrong because someone else said something different first?

Over the years I have seen numerous examples of people complaining like mad about places they purchased something from not being delivered only later to then see a message saying it arrived.

Look at the number of seedbanks that have been ripped to shreds by people whose order did not come as fast as they wished and they jumped online and told everyone they had been ripped off and then a few days or a week later the same person said their order arrived.

I can clearly remember one person saying Attitude Seeds ripped them off because their order had not arrived in three days.

How reasonable is that, to expect an order to arrive in three days? If you lived next to Attitude’s location you could not rightly expect an order to arrive in only three days but the person complained up a storm and called them ripoff artists and crooks.

My suggestion is for anyone who is a regular HTG customer to relax and give it a few days and see if like in the past when their site was partially non-operational due to changes being made it once again is fully operational.

My suggestion to the person who said they paid and did not receive their order would be to call the phone number I included in my last message and speak to someone in person and see what the delay is.
lol read the post 2 spaces above the 1 im quoting i called the number you listed(p.s. thanks for the number) I ordered the 12th and i ordered over the phone.. matter of fact when i ordered over the phone the guy told me 2-7 days. its been double and they told me they will ship it out tomorow,so i guess it'll be 2-7 days from the 27th.......convenient

It shouldnt but thats HTG for ya. they shouldnt have taken orders without telling people about the known delays they knew were coming..another reason not to buy there

To late allredy payed. Im not freakin out i just dont think it should take that damn long
I placed an order with them early last week. They charged my card, but also sent me an email almost immediately informing me of this delay. I wish they had made this known on their site prior to my making the order, but at least they let me know AND offered to refund my money. So I took them up on the offer and they credited my card back. You can do the same now if you like.

I have heard either GREAT stuff about them or HORROR stories. So I am going to avoid ordering too much from them, but their inline fans and carbon filters are literally 1/3 the cost of any other place. And I have yet to hear anything bad about either of these things... anyone? let me know if they are inferior to other fans/filters now, before I send them my money. :)

Also their T5 set up is pretty damn cheap as well... So unless someone here tells me those fans, carbon filters, or lights just flat out suck, then I will go through on those items and hope for the best.

Honestly, I have found it best to shop around a bit. One pace may have a better deal on lights and another might have a better deal on fans. The site mentioned in this thread is a GREAT one as well (cheaphydroponics).. GREAT prices and service. But I still wont get EVERYTHING from them.

I find it a bit odd for many reasons.

First off, if you've been billed and nothing's been shipped, and it's been like 2-3 weeks, file a billing dispute with your bank. HTG should be able to fulfill any remaining orders that trailed in just before they dropped their site.

Secondly, I find it really strange from a marketing standpoint to ruin their search engine rankings by cutting all the content..that will hurt them to be sure.

Third, I have ordered a 400 watt system from them and everything shipped just fine. I think their htg branded gear is ok, its not overpriced at all, if you get a lemon, perhaps, but I think their gear is good quality.

But again, there should be no acceptable reason they would not fulfill an order that was placed. But yet they're still answering the phone? Seems weird

I don't care I think something happened because I just find it convenient how they take phone orders no longer internet orders.Doing work on the warehouse my ass, they all ship from there storefront.

For some reason stoners always assume the worst and most times they turn out to be wrong.

Only time will tell but I tend to believe this will be yet one more time where stoners jumped to a wrong conclusion.

I have seen it far more times that I could begin to count over the many years I have hung around on boards like this to jump on the band wagon and say they’ve slammed and ripped people off.

I went to HTG’s website a few moments ago and while I did not place an order more of the site is operating today than yesterday so that does point to what I was told on the phone about website changes and warehouse revamping being true.

It is not proof positive but it would tend to make someone think that if they had slammed their doors or were going to slam their doors why would they now be wasting the time and effort and spending the money for someone to make things work again unless what myself and another person were told on the phone was the reason for things being down and being slow when we called HTG is precisely as they said.

But only time will tell for sure.

where else can i get a 400w hps with a cool tube and everything for less than 200?
About the least expensive I have seen a 400-watt Cool Tube selling for is roughly $250.00 plus shipping. There are a number of different plans to be found online of how to make your own for very little expense.

Below are instructions from one such home made Cool Tube. I am not saying it is the best home made one to be found or is average or the worst, it is only an example of what can be done. You can Google for more options.

DIY: Best Cool Tube
I had to share these instructions...the best I've found!

Clean, Easy Cool Tube Tutorial
<HR style="COLOR: #258c25" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->(*Note - This is of course, by no means a new idea. This is simply meant to be an informative tutorial based on my experience while searching for a cool tube solution. I was unable to find any detailed or clean instructions on how to make a cool tube using a Pyrex bake-a-round. They all ommited small details or used a ton of duct tape, random scraps, etc. This is intended for those who want a durable, clean, easy to assemble piece of equipment for thier setup. )

Clean and Easy Cool Tube

This is a detailed tutorial on how to put together your very own cool tube. You can assemble one of these in about 20 minutes. This is based on a 150 watt HPS, but may be adapted as needed.

What You Need:

1 x Pyrex Bake-A-Round tube (long discontinued, but available readily on EBay and in classifieds, Flea markets etc – surprisingly common) - $10-15
1 x pair of Café Rod brackets (hardware store, where window fittings are located) - $1.50
1 x Ceramic medium or mogul lamp base with standard mounting hole - $0.99
1 x 1”-1.5” (approx) hose clamp - $0.80
1 x 3.5”-4” (approx) hose clamp - $1.00
2 x 4.5”-5” (approx) hose clamps - $2.50
1 x roll of self adhesive insulting foam for hot water pipes. - $2.50
1 x #6 – 32 x 3/8” (machine screws with nuts) - $0.99
1 x multipurpose (including glass) glue or epoxy (optional) - $3.00
1 x 400°F small tube of silicone sealant - $2.50
Your HPS/4” duct system – N/A

Step 1:

Collect your café rod brackets, lamp base, and screws.

Remove one of the café rods and bend into roughly the shape illustrated in the next photo (you may need a something to help such as a pair of pliers).

Attach the café rod to the lamp socket’s mounting hole using a screw and nut.

Connect the wires from your power source line to the lamp socket. The white wire should connect to the silver screw, and the black wire to the brass / darker screw (this is standard color coding). I used a little bit of solder for good measure. Leave the ground wire (green) unconnected for now, ideally left a little longer than the others.
Cut and bend the remaining café rod into three pieces with tabs on the end as shown. The longest/middle section should measure 1&1/8” on each (medium) or 7/8" (mogul). The other sections are of negligible length, but around ½” is good. These are your spacers.

Fasten the spacers to the lamp socket as shown. Use your epoxy or glue if desired in addition to the clamp to make sure everything is firmly in place.

Step 2:

Hang your bulb assembly over the end of the Bake-a-Round. You will notice that there is a slight bit of play between the spacers attached to the socket, and the inner walls of the tube (if you measured correctly and don’t have an oddly sized socket). This is deliberate and is to account for possible thermal expansion in the metal. Fitting the spacers firmly could result in a cracked or broken tube!

Place the bulb in the socket and clamp the hook hanging over the side of the glass tube with the ~4” Clamp. Tack the hook and clamp with epoxy/glue for added strength (The glued clamp can still be popped off, so don’t worry too much about how you will change the bulb).

Step 3:

Wrap self adhesive insulating foam around each end on the tube as shown (or only one if you are using exhaust only). This will allow 4” duct to fit very snugly to the tube (which it’s self is 3 ¾” O.D.), and will also act as a gasket/seal when clamped.

Thread wiring through the ducting, attach the ducting to the tube, and clamp in place. Finish with silicone sealant if desired. Connect the ground to the duct or the café rod hook.

Add an optional reflector made from unclosed rigid duct (you can find this in your hardware store – it’s a piece of sheet metal with a snap together seam that hasn’t been connected). Simply cut to length, cut flanges a half inch from the ends, and clamp those to the duct/tube. Hang your lamp with light chain available from your hardware store by the foot. The chain attaches under the clamps on the duct. You’re done!

( IMHO ) By the time you buy all the crap you need, and take into account that you have to build it ( and its not easy), and also the fact that the smallest air leak could cause smelly smelly weed smelly to escape, it would be better to just buy one..I think if your gonna use a cootube jsut buy one instead of making one.. Looks like a PITA and it will only save about $40.00 .

I am not saying a home made Cool Tube is the cat’s meow but your numbers on how much would be saved by following the plans I posted are WAY off. You said someone would only save about $40.00. When you total up the cost of the parts/pieces, minus bulb and ductwork, the home made Cool Tube would be $216.22 less than the lowest priced 400-watt Cool Tube I have found online. Yes you have to add the price of the bulb(s) but buying one that is a real Cool Tube or making one either way you will be paying additional for the ductwork and fan so those amounts are irrelevant in a price comparison.
&#12288;
Keep in mind the question asked where a Cool Tube AND EVERYTHING ELSE NEEDED could be found for LESS than $200.00.
&#12288;
If LESS than $200.00 is the person’s total budget telling them to buy the real deal Cool Tube is not much of a help to them considering it would be way beyond their total budget, right?
