Coco Fibre PH

HI All, hoping for some quick advice for a couple of quick questions.

I've been growing in Coco Fibre for the first time, and missed out on the opportunity to mix CalMag into the mix when first setting out, I've been mixing some Garden Lime into my water, maybe half a teaspoon per 5 Litres and I'm finding that the water PH is spiking harshly to around 6.9.

I am lowering the PH back to 5.8 before watering.

So Q. 1.) The Soil PH should be around 5.8 yes?. because I'm stuck at around 6.2

Q2) Adding Garden Lime to water is the best way to introduce CalMag?

P.S. Im using Distilled water, the chlorine levels of my tap water is really high.

Thanks in advance you lovely people.

The lime is going to cause ph issues in the long run, coco provides little buffer and will quickly change to the Ph of whatever you water it with. I would pick up a CalMag supplement and stop using lime.
