here are some visual of bonsai moms if you need them

before pics (before taking clones, pruning and trimming)

after pics (after heavy clone taking and massive prune backs)

these moms of different strains have been in that same 16oz blue solo for almost 2 years now.... the little ones have been in that 8oz solo for about 1 year

whats my best route for the moms

:joint::peace:

It's no secret I am a Hydroton, Ebb/Flow guy... with a NON-Organic garden...

I like the reliability of the h202 and the simplicity of ONE Veg nute and ONE Flower nute....

but that's just me...

Ebb/Flow is just plain easy... and proven...:-P

also, dont let anybody tell ya you cant use t5s for vegging.

my whole prop rack is laced with t5s

they are great for vegging without you even needing to invest in aircooling unlike HID vegging

and they veg great!

lol who said anything about organic? for anybody who doesnt know...coco is the best of both world.... cuz it is a hydro medium, however it doesnt have to be used in a hydro setup

any solid medium will outperform over mediums like hydroton for the simple fact.... if ya lights go out and pumps have no power and you dont catch, that hydroton WILL dry out faster

Moms that are ultra reliable are the most simpliest. Meaning you can put those bitches in a pot, set and forget.

with that being said.... my cab houses mothers in solo cups of canna coco and they are flooded every other day.

Also, i only feed my mothers 1 time every month. I foliar feed every other week with House & Garden Magic Green.

I have to say its a nice thing when my veg doesnt inhale all the nutes. That shit got too expensive.

House & Garden's Magic green was my solution

Absolutely...

I use the same brand's (Sunleaves) 4' 8 bulb (400w) H.O. T-5 for ALL of my vegging purposes...

My big lights make BUDS... nothing else.... :o

And the T5 does a great job at making leaf...

also SoG dont worry about all the other special extra nutrients for mothers....they really dont need that much attention

I dont know why you had to point that out... Vegging is all i would use t5 for....

because i can see somebody trying to convince/persuade SoG to get a big light for veg that he doesnt even need.
I see... Well in SOG's setup i would say hell no... i mean he wants perpetual grows using aero... the plants are all small when you put them to flower...

i second your opinion LB,

ive been veggin with cfl's for almost a year now, they work great but i am in need of some t5's. metal halide is not necessary for veggin, t5's and cfl's put out all the plant needs. why create more heat and use more energy if you dont have or need to?
but i doubt ive said anything SOG doesnt already know lol.:leaf:

lol who said anything about organic?
All I said was that mine was non-organic... that's it...

for anybody who doesnt know...coco is the best of both world.... cuz it is a hydro medium, however it doesnt have to be used in a hydro setup
EVERYTHING in the WORLD had a good side and a bad side... including coco...:o:-P

any solid medium will outperform over mediums like hydroton for the simple fact.... if ya lights go out and pumps have no power and you dont catch, that hydroton WILL dry out faster
I have done the test...

It takes 3 days of no water for my moms to show symptoms...

I believe in checking the pumps often...:-P

Moms that are ultra reliable are the most simpliest. Meaning you can put those bitches in a pot, set and forget.
I agree...

I flood every 4 hours for 15 minutes...

Also, i only feed my mothers 1 time every month. I foliar feed every other week with House & Garden Magic Green.

House & Garden's Magic green was my solution
That is why I opted to go SIMPLE...

ONE Veg nute.. and ONE bloom nute...

and h202 of course...

no foliar feeding... no additives.....

no additives??... do yourself a favor and at least get that Cha Ching from forxfarms... IM hooked on there additives period... but yeah.. cant really fuck up chaching.

just thought I'd remind us all that 400w is 400w...

Metal Halide, HPS or T5... you are burning the very same 400w...

and anyone trying to say that T5s are not hot is LYING...

So yeah... there is a place and time for everything...

in a SOG... T5s are fine...

But if you are actually doing some real veg, you NEED MH for the same reason we need HOS to flower....

and that is light INTENSITY...

There is no way in hell MBlaze could veg his monsters without HIDs or the SUN...

Just thought I'd say that... EVERYTHING has an up and a down side...;-)

I have used it and I threw it away...

No additives is the best for me, in my system...

Do you think my buds lack something I could get by spending more money?

even in big time veg... no additives and the girls seem to be doing great .. in my opinion...

i wasnt quoting you, just speaking in general

and you cant name a drawback/bad of coco. you cant :p

and simple solution is what i mentioned :p

its nice mixing up only a 1gallon jug of 2 part nute (if that) every month and just foliar feeding...

foilar feeding isnt hard.

well lets not get crazy... one thing you might have not noticed is how thick the plants grow with HID vs CFL's,t5's ... DOnt get me wrong. I use cfls for clones n seeds ..and t5/hps combo for vegging. I have vegged with cfls.. vegged with t5's and with hps... The #1 best results have been with hps/t5 combo using this little number...

the branches and main stems are thicker.. stronger and greener... it just loves the dual spectrum lighting...

I love the t5's and cfl... but for reach over 12-18 inches...... compared... pfff hell no...

Its all on what style you want... if you want a SOG with a bunch of lollipops that are 18 inches tall then whatever... but if you want to get little bushes indoors then youll need a little more.

BUT.. I agree.... for hydro.. where vegging time is very very small... you wont be needing anything that goes deeper than 12"... hell the clones that you start flowering are max 8" ...

anyway..ramblin on... i just would hate for poeple to get the wrong idea about HIDs.. It is still the BEST way to grow indoors period.
