are you referring to my pics? I said they were amateurish. I threw them together in like 5 minutes. What do you expect?WHat the bloody heck is that?
i ordered 20 seeds from nirvana seeds and i have tried over and over to get them started. i have tried to germinate18 of them and only 4 haven't cracked but the problem is that after i plant them they never break the surface of the soil. the first try the two i was trying to get going cracked and i planted them and when after a week they never broke the surface i dug them up and they hadn't changed at all since i had planted them. so i tried again but this time i went on a trip and they sat for four days in the paper towel. so when i got back they had two inch tap roots so i planted them and they broke the surface in two days but then about three days later i woke up to find them shriveled and pretty much dead. so i figured out it had been nearly 100 degrees in the space that night cuz my fan had stopped working so i have tried again and again since then and every time it's the same story they crack i plant them they almost never make any more progress there was a few times where i found them with longer tap roots but they were either broken off or if they were fine i would cover them back up and they would never come up. i have only two seeds left so i really need these two to work. please help!!
You shouldn't have TOO many moisture problems up there but the temps have been more extreme than normal so that could be it. Anyhow, the ziplock bag and/or water bottle thing wouldn't hurt. Seedlings and clones love the humidity.im in the midwest, somewhere around upper utah. i hate to answer that but if it will help..
alright thanks for all the helpWell, that's pretty much as much info as I can give you. You might want to flush your soil but I've never done that so I don't have any advice one that. I'll keep my eye on the thread later on if you have some other questions but I think everyone here has given you some good ideas here. gotta go for now though. Good luck with your grow! Later!
the place i put my seeds stays about a constant 80 so i think heat is fine also i don't think its moisture problems because i can leave it for days and the paper towel will barely lose any moisture
I'd say that is probably the reason why they are dying and not coming up at all. Regular mg soil is way to hot. Try the seed starting soil if you have to us MG for some reason. I've used scotts before and it worked ok (half the nutes of MG). The NPK is usually on the bag. Find the one with the lowest percentage...i an using miracle gro potting mix, with four cfl's
Hayden i am having the same problem.. mine just dosent want to brake soil.. i digged it up there was a tap root and its too first leaves it this one fails im just going to get some organic soil becaus i am using the MG soil also. i put it back right on the top where it sould brake soil but if it dosent in 1 maybe 2 days ill probably have to get rid of it. DAMNIT!!! aslo i did the papertowl and ziplock bag and it just took to long for my seedling to crake. Next time i will just plant the seed and let nature take its cource.
as long as they had sprouted a taproot then thats good.they broke the surface!! i used the same method i have been the whole time only i let the root get about a half an inch and 24 hours later they are doing terrific!! thanks for all the help but i guess the only problem i had was that i planted them straight off as soon as they cracked.
